Pyrex 6001003 9 in. Glass Pie Plate - Pack Of 6

I have had my pie plates since I was a young girl and I am now 60. Pyrex is a fantastic product period. They have helped me bring home blue, red, & white ribbons for years. I cannot recommend a better product when it comes to baking a pie to a casserole.

I make a lot of pies (I purchased 8 of these pie plates for myself.), and Pyrex makes good glass pie plates. I prefer the flat rims to the fluted rims, because they allow me to create the edges that I prefer, and the crusts roll in better. The Pyrex flat rims are nice and smooth, unlike those made by Anchor Hocking. In addition, the Pyrex plates held up to normal use, again in contrast to the Anchor Hocking products that cost more, with one shattering as I was slicing the pie, and the other leaving knife marks in the shape of the pie slices. My only complaint about these pie plates is the glass has a greenish tinge, unlike the clear glass of my older Pyrex pie plates.

This exact plate was impossible to find in any of the store I looked in. The ones they had were too deep. I decided to go on line to Pyrex ware & lo & behold, I found what I was looking for. I use them for serving up my dinner every day. The lip of the dish is just perfect for the food to stay in the plate rather than a flat plate. Dinner goes on the dish(I cook in batches), & then when I'm ready to eat one of them they go right in the microwave & dinner for me is served! I of course would never use them formally but for just me, who do I have to impress. Oh, & yes, I have used them for pies!

I have used pyrex pie plates since I was a young woman on my own in the 1970's, and still find them to be the best for the job. I decided to replace my original old pyrex pie plates with these new ones, and as always I'm not disappointed. The fact that the famous test kitchen recommends them is a plus. I've tried other styles, but always return to this particular pie plate for my best pie creations. The shape lends itself to a nice crust design on the edge, and as always the glass lets me see the crust on the sides and bottom while it bakes. This gets 2 thumbs up from me. I recommend the pyrex 9" pie plate to everyone who loves to make a beautiful pie, whether sweet, savory or ice box, it's perfect!

My old crockpot has served me well but I broke the lid. This lid fits it perfectly!
