Re-Fuel Lithium-Ion Battery Charger for Canon Digital Camera Batteries (RF-DSLR-500C)

I lost my Nikon D3200 charger and had a photo shoot that evening. Went online and found this item and saw it had great reviews. Ordered it online and picked it up in store. I made sure everything worked before I left. I plugged it into my 12V outlet inside my vehicle to charge while I was driving. Got to the photoshoot and the camera died on me about 30 minutes into the shoot. We went inside for a little bit to wait on it to re-charge. Plugged into an outlet inside and 30 minutes later, still dead as a door nail. The green light was on the entire time. I don't know if I just got a bad one, or what, but I'm taking it back as soon as possible.

This charger is everything the box claims it to be. Both USA plug and European plug are included efficiently in one unit. Separate holders meet the needs for the batteries cited on the box. The labels on the battery holders are clear and the battery is easily inserted into the designated holder. Charging time is as advertised. I have not yet checked to see if in fact I am getting 750 photos per charge for the Canon LP-E6 battery I purchased with the charger, but the "up to" covers a lot of territory, so I probably won't bother. So far I am not noticing a need to recharge more frequently than usually. All in all I am very satisfied with the purchase.

This charger's flexibility is very handy. I bought it due to the loss of my Canon battery charger and the need to replace it immediately. While you can get specific chargers online, this charger is reasonably priced and covers a wide variety of batteries. It works efficiently as well. The only downside to the charger is connected to its flexibility. In order to charge a variety of battery types, it has a number of interchangeable plates. They aren't hard to use, but they are a bit more awkward to use than a charger devoted to one single type of battery. That being said, I would say the benefit of being able to charge different battery types outweighs any awkwardness of having interchangeable plates.

I like that the unit can charge multiple battery types but this feature is useless to me as I am only recharging batteries for my Canon 5D Mark IV. I needed an additional charger to supplement the other OEM charger for charging multiple batteries. I like the included adapter for charging while traveling to Europe. What I do not like; excessive charging times over the OEM charger. The indicator like states only charging or complete while the OEM indicates charged states in 25% intervals. This means there is no feedback from the battery which may lead to over or under charge.

This charger works by slipping adapter plates over the base. The good part is that because of the design, it can be used with a wide variety of Canon batteries. I have an old Rebel XTi, a 7D, and a G12 and there's adapters for the batteries in each of these batteries. The downside is that the plates themselves are a bit flimsy. Also, some of them rely on thin, plastic arms to hold the batteries in place. I imagine once one of the arms breaks you will not be able to charge that type of battery.
