Wasted money

This is my worst gadget. ,I cannot believe Samsung would create such trash. Awful resolution, slow, nothing good to say. Decided to give to my 11 year old as game toy.

  • from Saint John, NB

Mostly ok, but keeps going into stupid split windows mode

If it wasn't for split window mode it would be ok though a little slow. That one defect however makes it a steaming pile of something I shall not name. For no reason, in the middle of games or work, it goes into the mode and then it takes 10 minutes to get it back out. You can't disable it, you can't turn the feature off. It literally turns your device into a brick. If you were doing something critical, or in the middle of a tricky spot in a've lost it.

Good for what I need it for

I picked this up to replace a beat up ol' HP laptop. I use it primarily as an e-reader and occasionally for browsing and streaming videos off of youtube/netflix. For what I need it for this device is perfect. I've had zero issues with it this far. It doesn't have great screen resolution, it's not winning any contests for loading speed, and there's not much chance of running high-end games on it. But for what I do with it, it's perfect. I took off 1 star because I wish it had an HDMI port.

What a piece of crap. I thought about getting an ereader and figured for a few bucks more I might as well get the extra features of a tablet. Well, It's okay as an ereader, but that's about it. Mind you my last tablet was an iPad mini so maybe I was just spoiled but this thing is just garbage. For starters, it's too heavy to hold comfortably for any length of time, the resolution sucks, and It's about as responsive as a snail, and as accurate as using a wheelbarrow to fill up a thimble. I tried to calibrate the screen, because whenever you tap the screen it selects something lower than where you tap, and that's if it reacts at all to the tap, usually you have to hammer it to or three times for it to react. Pretty much every app I download comes with the warning "this app may not be optimized for your device". And they're right nothing is optimal on this glorified paperweight. Even trying to write this review is painful. I've tried over and over and over again to click on the stars to give it an overall rating of one star (and probably less if that were an option) but it just won't register. About five minutes ago I was pressing on the the x to close a screen over and over again but it would simply not react. I exercised EXTREME restraint at that point because every fiber of my being was to smash this useless piece of excrement into itty bitty pieces. I was frustrated with the latest Apple offerings and decided to try what I thought was one of the better Android brands, but boy was I wrong. This product is worthless.

Horrendous screen

Low resolution and terrible colours. All greens look the same. All blues look the same. You would think Samsung would hold themselves to a greater standard but no. This really is a budget tablet and nothing more. Realistically, you are paying more for Samsung software which is useless for most tablet users than you are actually paying for a tablet with good hardware. Good for the kids I guess.

Great tablet for the price.

I found that is priced right for what it can do and what is available for this tablet. Positive attribute is the price for what you get and the size of the screen is bigger than the Tab A. Expandable storage available is a plus. Negative attribute is that it is a little heavier than I expected.

Nice tablet for the price

Purchased to replace an 8 in Tab A. Seems to work well for everything. One complaint would be the weight...feels heavier than my 10 inch Tab S.

  • from Kincardine

Very good buy for the price

There are faster, clearer, more powerful tablets but not for this low price. This was a good economical choice.

It does the job

I bought this product because I was needing a tablet (entry level) to control my Nikon D7000 in a tethered fashion, with the help of an app. The tablet has the OTG USB required connectivity built in to allow for the tethering. So I'm happy it does the job. For the audio portion of the tablet, I would say it sounds very thin and has very low fidelity, although the volume can be set high enough to listen to the audio output. The image quality is acceptable considering the screen specifications. If you look at it in detail you can see the pixilation due to its low pixel density for the screen size. The OS offers the typical Android man-machine interface. The configuration flexibility offered through the settings of the OS is substantial. Please note that off the 16Gb memory, around half of it, is already used up by the OS and the apps that come preinstalled. It may be wise to consider adding a microSD card. I have had this device for 3 days and so far I'm happy with it. Time will tell about the hardware reliability.

Solid Machine - picture a little grainy

Tablet seems great so far in terms of speed etc. Charges very fast and has great battery life - colors are good but the picture is a little grainy compared to other more expensive tablets. Pretty good deal when on sale in my mind.

MS office?

does this have Microsoft office or not the store clerk said it doesn't but the webpage says it does misleading advertising

Skip this tablet and buy something new

Tablet is quite slow when using internet (COMPARE TO IPAD) Clarity is poor and hazy and will make you go blind Unless you are playing mindless games or need it for a child, don't buy this... Choose something with better resolution quality

Great Purchase!

I love the size and clarity of the Galaxy E tab! Its great for watching videos, surfing the internet and playing games. Great tablet for the money spent!

  • from Niagara Falls, ON

Great tablet

This tablet is pretty much everything I was looking for: good price (on sale), large, clear display, great battery life and fast response time. The layout and interface is much like my galaxy s5 so found it very easy to use right out of the box. It also updated automatically to lollipop on startup although I had read differently on reviews before my purchase. It is somewhat heavy as others have stated but not overly so and I agree with other reviews that the speaker placement and quality could have been better. I will probably use Bluetooth headphones for watching videos

Good Choice

Replaced my MS Surface PRO with the Tab E. Overall I am very satisfied with the performance. Battery Life is good. Streaming capability is fine. Easy setup and the expandable Micro Sd memory is a plus. The camera is not that great compared to my Samsung S6 but I do not use it on the tablet anyway. So far it has not locked up or glitched.

  • from Mississauga

Good price but video quality is really bad...

Nothing much to say aside from being cheaper than my other iPad. The only thing downside for this tab is that the picture and video quality is not the same standard as my iPad....I wish I bought the other Samsung tablet.

Great item!

Great tablet.

Incredible value

Bought it for my wife, and she loves it. Much better than my Dell Android tablet. Bonus -- the Samsung manual for this product is one of the best I have seen for any computer product.

Charts and Bands

For a musician, I find I needed a tablet just to display the charts and backup band music that I would need for such occasions. This Samsung tablet does just that :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this Tablet

I bought one for my son for his birthday last year. I liked it sooo much, I decided to treat myself to one for Christmas last year as well. Love it. Its a great tablet for the price. Fast and responsive, I can cast movies to my TV with it using Wifi Direct. I use it primarily as an ereader or for on the go browsing or watching movies in bed at night as I have a laptop for heavier work. I also play some games on it, but haven't tested out the processor in this respect as I am not an avid gamer. Works fine for the ones I do play. The speakers could be a bit better, but if i want the volume higher for a movie I just use my bluetooth earbuds. I love that it has expandable memory. I have no complaints about this tablet; after a year of moderate use, there are absolutely no issues. my son is happy with his as well. Great option when your budget won't allow for an Ipad-and as far as I am concerned this one is far more user friendly-people just buy ipads because they're hip lol (the ipads, not the people) GREAT TABLET!!!!!!!

  • from Saskatoon

Very good tablet for the price

It is just right size, good battery life but a little bit heavy.

  • from Ajax, ON

Great tablet if you're willing to be a bit patient

great tablet, easy to use, easy to set up. it's just not particularly fast. don't get me wrong though, it's not horribly slow either. it's like following a car that's going 56 kph when you're in a 60 kph lane.

  • from Ajax, ON

Real value for your money

So I waited a week to write my review, and I must say I am very impressed with my Samsung tab E. I already own a iPad first generation but found multitasking to be a challenge on the iPad. I already own a note3 and the tab E works pretty much the same. The Tab E is fast fluid the resolution is fantastic and the ability to toggle back and forth is amazing. It is a bit heavy but it also has more of a solid feel than the iPad. With the expandable memory there is no limit to what I can do with my tablet and only need the 16gb version therefore saving even more money. Battery life is pretty good no complaints overall a fantastic buy and I find I use it more than my iPad and note3.

Exactly what I expected

I chose this as my first tablet after doing a fair amount of research about it compared to other premium brand products in the price range. I don't have any high performance needs, and bought it primarily with the excuse of needing it for a course: email, general surfing, reading, maybe a movie or two. I probably won't use it for photos or music (speakers) - not because of its capabilities, just because I use a camera and either an ipod or external headphones/speakers. As a long-time samsung phone user, I am comfortable with the interface. The screen resolution, which some have complained about, is as advertised, and was sufficient for me to watch a movie. It's a bit heavy, but with an appropriate case/stand I don't expect that to be a problem. I got what I paid for and I'm happy with it.

Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 Best

I really like this Tab. For the reading and you can carry easily in your bag. Very fast for office work especially Microsoft Office. This tab video and pictures very sharp. I enjoy this Tab E 9.6.

Great product

Excellent tablet. easy to use easy to set up and I'm technically challenged! lol. No complaints.

Galaxy Tab E experience.

Over all pleased with Tab E 10". Got it for email, FB, simple games, surfing internet mainly maybe You Tube and movies, reading books. after stumbling around figuring out the ins and outs of the dang tab, I found it a bit heavy and looked for something to support it. Like all devices, it's not perfect but better than most. Rate it at 4 out of 5..

  • from Burnaby, BC

Not the best screen resolution

My old Samsung Tab 3 has better resolution than this one. But it is OK - especially if you get the big price discount as I did.

  • from Brampton, ON

Screen Resolution Too Low

With my previous experience with Acer and Nexus tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab E screen resolution is unexpected low. So I exchanged with an iPad Air 2. But Samsung Galaxy came with Microsoft Word, Excel and etc., which is convenient..

  • from Scarborough, ON

Poor Screen Resolution

Got this tablet and turned it on. Was very disappointed with the screen resolution of 800x1200. This tablet may be good for other things but to read fine print and text on websites, it is bad choice. It is not good enough as e-reader either. 800x1200 looks great on 7in or 8in tablets but on 9in plus. Returned it for a Lenovo hi res 10 in tablet for the same price and am very happy with it though admittedly Samsung interface is much better.

  • from Dartmouth, NS

Great, but HEAVY!

I'm very pleased with this tablet. Got it to check email and Facebook, surf the net, maybe watch a couple of movies. It also came with MS Office and it's great to be able to deal with small changes to documents and send them back by email rather than having to boot up my laptop, blah blah. My only real complaint is that it is quite heavy. It's not comfortable to hold up and type away on or even just surf on. You'll want to lay it down.

Samsung galaxy tab E 9.6

I enjoy this tablet. Just upgraded from the smaller Samsung tab 3. There are only 2 things I don't like. The speaker was put at the back of the tablet which is just terrible. All the things that are predownloaded are super annoying that you can't delete yourself, but you'll find that on most tablets I guess. Overall I like it though

Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6

I love my new tablet, I use it more than my laptop. Great device, price and quality.

  • from Hamilton, ON

Great bang for your buck

We got this tablet during Boxing Week. It's been a great upgrade to our old Samsung tablet. The battery life is fantastic, and for what we want/need it to do, it is more than sufficient. It's heavier than other tablets/Ipads, but for the price point (price) when we bought it, it's a much better value.

  • from Edmonton, AB

Good buy

This is very good. I was lucky to buy this Samsung Galaxy tab E 9.6" for CAD 229. It is worth for that money. I like this because it has pre-installed MS office package. I recommend this product to anyone because it is very valuable to this much money.

Perfect Tablet for the Right User

This devices makes one question -why- they want a tablet to begin with. I bought the Tab A 9.6 for two reasons: Battery Life and a Wacom Digitizer (lets you draw/write accurately with a stylus). If you're familiar with digital art tablets like the Wacom Intuos and Cintiq, you'll feel somewhat at home with this thing. Shortly after buying, I slapped LayerPaint HD and Screen Stream Mirroring onto this device because I want to make digital art. I've been extremely pleased with what I've seen so far. I even picked up music making software (Caustic 3) and the device does its job amazingly well. As a generic tablet, it's a bit 'Meh' on screen resolution, and the buttons don't light up. However, the sound system is unexpectedly clear and full. The speed and performance are reasonably good for moderate use; video playback and gaming. The battery life is surprising - I can't seem to kill this thing in a couple of hours of extremely heavy use. Screen colour is vibrant and the 4:3 proportion is pleasing for reading and art. I don't recommend buying this for typical video watching or whatever people generally do with tablets nowadays. I HIGHLY recommend this tablet for someone who wants to have a pen in their hand, or desires to create art. This is more of a 'serious' tablet in a way, but the price tag could have told you that. For me, this feels very similar to a Wacom Cintiq style tablet; smaller, sure, but mobile and only costing 15% of the price.

Excellent value for money

This is my first tablet and for email, surfing the Web it is excellent. I do not watch movies or download music so am a simple user however I find the battery lasts forever and the picture quality is great. Not expensive and provides everything I need in a tablet.

  • from Orleans, ON

Great Tablet!!

I bought this as an alternative to my iPad and I'm loving it. The camera quality is great and it's speed, size and weight are perfect for my causal surfing of the net and checking emails. It's my first Android/Galaxy product and it is very intuitive. It's price point and what it offers for value was what I was looking for and I have no real complaints. The only thing I had to get used to was to not accidentally touch the Home/Back/Recent Apps buttons on the side.

Samsung Tablet E

I purchased my tablet last night and will be returning it today. It has poor picture quality and the controls should light up. When I tried to download games they froze and when they did not the game controls were slow. Not worth the money!

  • from Leduc, AB

Is It A Refurbed First Gen In A New Package?

Things look grainy on the display, tried adjusting the brightness (which you have to constantly do because there is no auto brightness) and not much improvement. Screen is prone to fingerprints. The speaker is on the back, which is great if you are facing at the back of the device, not so great if you are watching a movie and the audio is not directed at you. The Samsung "back" and "view open apps" buttons at the bottom of the device are not lighted and are difficult to accurately press in the dark. The speed is fine, so is the storage, but the device just seems like it is an first gen tablet, it's awkward, poor display and not worth the money, I am returning today.
