Great TV, but the power light remains on when I turn the TV off

Does anyone know how to turn the power light off in the left corner when the device is powered off?

horrible 8 bit color trying to say it's hdr

This 8 bit color tv has jagged picture edges in movies and games, it jitters and stutters when for a few seconds when first turned on and it smells like it's going to catch fire. Windows 10 goes between saying it's hdr and saying it's not. When it's in hdr mode the colors look washed out and when it's not the colors look over exaggerated and harsh. it has difficulty playing some games in hdr and will cut in and out of black screen, snow screen and picture. I now understand why it was so inexpensive and will most likely be returning it.

Worth the purchase on sale.

We've had this tv for a year now. Honestly it's not great but it's also not bad. Good tv for the price.

Affordable and excellent quality

I've been using this TV for more than 6 months now and I really love it. Never had any problem, the image quality is amazing.

  • from Toronto, ON

Sale price of 349.99 fit nicely within my budget as a second TV for the bedroom (basically just running Netflix and other streaming services from the wireless router. No gaming or other appliances). This is my 2nd Roku OS smart TV. LOVE the simplicity of the Roku interface. Performance is surprisingly good for a TV in this price range. Simple and straight-forward to setup and use. Very happy with the purchase. 3 HDMI inputs, plus Optical out. The headphone jack is a nice touch (that many new TVs are missing), so I can supplement the sound output with a decent set of computer speakers + sub. Excellent value.

amazing quality

I got a sharp 43`` 4k tv and it really impressed myself, the quality it is so nice and much better than others. I really liked it and I recommend.

Horrible amount of quantity in stock. I was advised there was only 40 at my location in a city of nearly 1 million people... lol. Have been logging on every single day since 5 pm sale day start. By then i was already too late? No replenished stock along the entire weekend until this monday today as I make the post realizing there is no way of me obtaining the T.V.? Very pathetic... Not a happy customer and i will assure you any other tech shop will be receiving my business instead.

Too bad they are sold out this year. I wanted to buy a 2nd

I bought this TV in the Black Friday sale 2017. It took us 3 purchases till we found this one. Great picture, sound quality and features for the buck. One year later and it still amazes me that we got such a great deal.

  • from Lasalle, QC

Amazing TV!

I love the 4k and HDR on this tv you can even improve the picture quality with the remote. The speakers are amazing, I placed the tv on the wall and the speakers are the best I ever heard on a tv. I definitely recommend this tv.

  • from Richmond Hill, ON

Not so good

Few things The viewing angle is not what they claim. I find even in a darkened room as soon as you view it off center the picture deteriorates quickly. I have a higher end Samsung sound bar that was perfect with the previous TV. Hooked up with this Sharp the sound bar is at 100% and not nearly loud enough. That is using the HDMI or optical. The output to the sound bar is not good enough. I have found this with a Sharp I tried a couple years ago, same thing again but different bar . The picture its self is just not good enough. Even with a 4K feed its just not there. So have to go back. It was the black Friday special, greatly discounted but even at that price point it has to go back

Tv dropped Dead after 7 months

I was well happy with my t.v for a while. Everything worked fine, Roku, Wifi and all. I like the HDR on my ps4. But someday, it just dropped dead. Without any warning or any hint of malfunction, only after 7 months. Try to call Sharp on a week end (of course they don't work on week-ends) but at the end of the call it says that if you want to return a malfunctioning T.V go to If you didn't get that, that's the website for returning AC and humidifiers. Am not impressed with this TV at all and Sharp as a company.

  • from Edmonton, AB

Not your PC monitor

I just tried as a PC monitor, very blurry. Maybe ok with 125% scale, but not 100% scale. I returned it and got Samsung Q6F. Had to pay over x2 but great monitor. Great service Edmonton south location, btw. Thank you. :)

no screen with audio

Please DO NOT BUY Bought in Sept 2017 now May 2018 and tv is no good. I've had this issue once and it went away. should have been a sign to get rid of this piece of garbage. Smart TVs aren't too smart. Still waiting for reply for warranty, if there is indeed 1 year warranty without going thru too many hoops.

  • from Guelph, ON

Horrible reliability/customer service

Got this T.V in Dec 2017. The tv itself was fine (not real HDR though), but it completely stopped working just after a few months. No LED indicator lights or anything. If you look at other reviews, other people have had this same problem with this tv. That isn't even the worst part. Trying to get through to customer service was even worse. Was on hold for 3 hours and then got transferred to a different department who put me on hold again and hung up. After two days of trying to get in contact with them they said they would get back to me in a week after they have made a file. It is very disappointing to see Sharp AND Best Buy have such poor customer service. Although the product is still in warranty, I'm beginning to doubt they will do anything to help. This will absolutely be the last time I use a Sharp product. I would recommend staying away from them as well because they are actually now owned by Hisense, a totally different company. Avoid this tv, because in terms of longevity I guarantee it won't last.

This tv is great for the price I paid on boxing day for 399, honestly my only disappointment is the tiny remote. But there is a roku app that is amazing and for the anime nerds out there, there is a crunchy roll app for it.

sharp 43 inch 4k hdr

Thought this wouldn't be all that good, but I was mistaken. Easy to use, fabulous picture and the right price

  • from Windsor, ON

Liked it so much, I bought a 2nd one

I'm a big fan of this tv. Picture quality is great, colours are vibrant, and just a great all around experience. I bought one on sale on boxing day, then a month later it went on sale for the same price and I bought a second one. I highly recommend downloading the Roku mobile app as it opens up A LOT of extra configuration options for this tv.

Impressive TV for the price, great customer service from Best Buy

I only received the TV today and have only connected to a computer so far, but my initial impression is that the image quality is great, (even before considering the price we paid.) We had been thinking about replacing one of our older TVs and had casually done a little research, but this was more of an impulse purchase prompted by the very low price when it was on sale. There isn't much information about this particular TV because it's exclusive to Best Buy. CNET gave it 4/5 stars in a review from 2015. (There are other Sharp/Hisense TV models with similar but not identical specs.). I went to a Best Buy store to see it in person and to get a rough idea of image quality (the lighting in stores is very different from residential homes so you really to judge a TV's image quality in your own home.) Went home, then ordered it online that evening because the sale was ending. It was delivered the next business day, instead of 5 days as stated (But I live in the GTA and it came from a Brampton warehouse.) But TV was clearly defective when we turned it on. No physical damage was visible but the screen displayed coloured straight lines and arcs, and it cycled itself on and off. Disappointed obviously, but I ordered it because Best Buy has a 30 day return or exchange policy for TVs. Unplugged it, and put in back in the box. (It's well packaged BTW, much easier to get out and back into the box than other flat screens I've purchased.) Today, I went on the Best Buy website, found the closest store with the TV in stock and reserved one. Then drove there and exchanged it without any hassles. In and out of the store in less than 10 minutes. Honestly, it could not have been easier. This replacement works perfectly and immediately walked me through the simple set up process. It's too soon to give much of a review, but I'm impressed with this TV so far.

5-star rating for the "on-sale" price

I’m not sure why some would be complaining about the picture quality on this unit; it certainly appeals to me. There’s even a YouTube vid where the guy raves about it except for the TV guide while using antenna and degradation of the picture when viewed from off-centre. I don’t use an antenna and off-centre viewing hasn’t been an issue, but I tend to watch from straight on anyway. I tried tweaking various picture settings at first but ended up resetting to factory settings. I’ve watched some 4K and HDR feeds on the YouTube channel, streamed wirelessly with Chromecast, via ethernet cable to computer to TV over HDMI, as well as Blu-ray movies over HDMI. They’re all very good with the “exception” of Chromecast hockey, which is outstanding. I will stay away from the advanced picture settings having tweaked and reset, but you might like to play with picture options. While you are playing some content, press the remote control’s Options (asterisk) button and change TV brightness (I prefer Darker), Picture mode (I like Normal) and Picture size (Auto works for me.) I use these on all of the inputs (you have to configure them individually) and am very satisfied. I can’t speak to the longevity of this TV, but we take our chances with most electronics anymore. I got mine on sale and thus far am a happy viewer.

Great TV for use as HD Monitor

I bought this TV to use as a monitor for my new Mac mini. I was looking for 4K TV that would look great and this didn't disappoint. It may not be the best 4K TV on the market, but I bought it as open box while on sale for less than half price. That's just about what I would have paid for a decent 27" monitor. So far, the graphics look stunning coming from my Mac mini and I love having a 43" display. If I were buying a TV for my home theatre, I would have probably splurged on something better, but this works excellent for what I'm using it for. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Solid TV and monitor

I purchased this model for 4k TV and gaming. I am not disappointed in the least. Here are some facts. 1. It is 4K. 2. It does 4K @60 fps/hz. 3. It does indeed do HDR. 4. It does use 4:4:4 chroma. Make sure you set the HDMI port to HDMI 2.0 and NOT to auto. Also, make sure your video card drivers are up to date and the resolution set to 3840x2160[60hz]. If you're into PC gaming, set the picture mode to GAME MODE. The picture is clear and crisp. I absolutely love it.

  • from Toronto, ON

cheap for a reason !!!

love the price . hate the picture . just compare this TV to any other 4K on the shelf and you`ll see how awful this Sharp product is . terrible picture quality for UHD 4k . I`m returning it and won`t buy Sharp again

More Than Worth It

Bought on Boxing Day, like most and have been enjoying it ever since. Picture quality is sharp and the screen goes so bright that it's almost piercing. The integrated Roku is a boon I never thought I'd use; now it's something that I couldn't do without. The addition of the Ethernet port is great, since the WiFi signal becomes finicky at times. All in all, an amazing product. A word of note: HDR IS on the TV, it just may not be on by default depending on the source being used. If you know that it can support HDR, go into Settings > TV Inputs, choose whatere HDMI input it's on and switch the HDMI mode from "Automatic" to "HDMI 2.0." My guess that it sometimes chooses 1.4 by default, which doesn't support HDR, and by doing this, your content should be showing in beautiful 4K HDR once more

Very happy with the TV

Bought on Boxing Day for 399, great price. Have not been disappointed. My wife loves the Roku remote. Great picture quality.

  • from Markham, ON

Very strong plastic smell

The one I bought on boxing day has a very strong plastic smell, and the front to the back is pretty thicker.

Boxing day sale

I only paid 399 on Boxing day and it works more than fine.

  • from Kitchener, ON

Awesome Smart TV

picture quality is good, roku tv is really easy to setup and you can connect with your smartphone to make it function like your remote.

  • from Ottawa, ON

Great so far

Got it at Boxing Day sale and was long thinking about if I really needed it. Finally gave it a try, replaced an older monitor for my Home Theater PC and so far didn't regret it. Enjoying now the 4k resolution.

  • from Nepean

Terrible picture quality

Oh gosh, how do people rate this TV highly... bought one today and was very disappointed with how bad the picture quality is....The colour is very dull. It feels very faulty with the picture processing hardware. Images are very blocky. You can see the "colour ring" radiates away from bright spot....We tried hard to tune the settings. No matter what the picture quality is far worse than my other 6 years old TV and even my laptop screen.... Don't waste your money and time...

  • from Ottawa, ON

Fantastic Tv. Great value.

This tv is absolutely fantastic, especially considering how much it costs. Sports look great on Vivid/sport picture setting. Roku TV is extremely easy to use and gives the feel of a much more expensive unit. Definitely buy.

Limited Viewing Angles and a Pain to setup HDR for Xbox One S

Pros: Picture quality was great for the price, and right amount of HDMI ports, and Roku is a great interface (despite the spotify app being garbage) Cons: Audio hiss if you use headphone out (powered on or off and using a decent cable), I used optical instead and sounds fine. Viewing angles are kind of poor, with about 100 degree sweet spot. Other: Advertised as HDR and worked fine for netflix, when booting up XBOX one S it does not recognize HDR unless you go into the tv, settings then select the input your xbox is on and manually select HDMI 2.0 instead of Auto, there is no where online that tells you to do this but with some tinkering I figured it out. Rebooted tv and xbox and works like a charm and looks decent too

  • from Windsor, ON

So Bestbuy advertised this as an HDR TV, but it does NOT support this whatsoever. Do not buy this just to play HDR games with your Xbox One X. Check the TV's manual first, don't rely on BestBuy's description. I'm going to return mine as soon as I can, and spend money on a better TV.

Amazing tv for the price

Its worth it

  • from Montreal, QC

Very good TV, nothing to complain about

This TV is exactly as described. Most importantly, everything works as expected. Roku is also pretty nice.

  • from New Westminster, BC

Good value

For the sale price it's good enough value. Picture quality is great straight on not so much at angles more than 45'. Also no matter which picture size I choose it doesn't include writing at the very bottom ie the news channel! It's my first Sharp purchase - I rate it a strong average!!

  • from London, ON

Felt like I needed to wear glasses while watching tv. Even the menus were blurry. Do not recommend. Returned and went with a 4K LG and it's MUCH better.

  • from Winnipeg, MB

Double Duty Display

Works great as a combination small TV and big computer monitor. No complaints with the picture quality. Roku is solid. Love the minimal controller. For the nerds: -x264 mkv works -x265 mkv works

  • from Ottawa, ON

4K and HDR is nice, but off axis viewing is poor

First impressions were positive (except the TV requires a PC and internet connection to setup your Roku account) 4K resolution is nice, and HDR does work. Confirmed with YouTube HDR and PS4 HDR settings. TV switches to HDR mode and acknowledges HDR signal with a badge in upper right for 1 second. Roku interface is quick enough and loading app performance is good. My issue with this TV is the off axis horizontal viewing. It is a VA panel, which does give good contrast and colours when viewed STRAIGHT ON, but move more than 30 degrees off center and the picture gets noticeably washed out and it's a noticbly worse experience than my old 1080p IPS panel TV. If you are watching in a straight on it's an impressive TV for the price, but the off angle wash out may cause me to return this.

  • from Toronto, ON

So far I've very pleased

Given the sale price. I cant fault it in any way and I find the operation as TV or computer display working great. No issues.

  • from Burnaby, BC

Great Value, when on sale!

This is my 2nd 4K HDR TV set which made me very particular in what I picked up for the bedroom having a SONY XBR 4k HDR 55in as a reference point in the main living area. The key to finding out if you have a great set or not is going through a calibration and having good source material to use. Having 4K HDR blurays, XBOX one S and a PS4 Pro as well as my gaming PC as my source really helped me put this set through its paces. Going through several movies, games and several days of having it in the living whilst I tested for colour accuracy, clarity, and response times. I have to say that I really became impressed with the clarity and colour of this display. I was skeptical being an exclusive with the partnership (more on that later). Everytime I loaded a game or a movie I was excited as I saw how the TV would display my content. The picture was bright, it showed great detail, great response time for a TV if your a gamer (16ms@4k). What was lacking was the accuracy with HDR content. This isn't a surprise as HDR is still new technology and the higher end sets tend to be the ones accurately reproducing a scene. Gaming HDR content was accurate with this said. When I would pull up Ratchet and Clank, the Last of US, Horizon Zero Dawn. The picture would have me sitting back being impressed. When you would put in a 4K bluray or Stream Netflix. I was left looking disappointed as the wide colour gamut, difference in contrast with the light and dark areas of the set didn't have the pop I was used to. Being a Best Buy/Sharp partnership with Sharp overseeing Best Buy produce and manufacture the set. Sharp licensed its name to Best Buy to produce this TV's over the last few years. My reservations were set as I wasn't planning on keeping the TV if it didn't meet my expectations. At this price point I wasn't expecting much. Considering it ended up exceeding my expectations for what my intended usage is going to be, which is being in the bedroom I am very pleased. This is a great TV to pick up when it's on sale. Would I have picked this up if it wasn't at the regular price? Very unlikely as TV's priced more than this would be a better choice as a primary set. In closing this Sharp TV being a non Aquos not being a Sharp produced unit offers great value, great picture quality and good for gamers. Pro's - Great Value on Sale - Bright Picture - Good as a 2nd gaming set - Roku which makes app switching quick! - Good colour accuracy - App control iOS and Android - Design. Con's - HDR accuracy was spotty depending on source . Gaming sources were great, Netflix wasn't so great.

Very nice TV at great price

Purchased at Boxing day sales and very pleased. Excellent picture. Hooked up well. Roku is interesting to explore. Size was just right for the location. Five stars!

  • from Brossard , QC

It was the 3rd model I tried, and the best.

Tried three different models, this is the one that gave me the best picture and also ease of use as a computer monitor, extremely satisfied with the picture quality.
