Called to see if remote available in store. was advised that they do not sell shaw remotes have never sold them and to go to eastlink kiosk. the review would be much less than 1. got shaw installed jan 9 2017 by feb 6 had to replace hdpvr + remote. new remote will control tv volume and mute but have to push sat to control guide and exit. if on sat have to push tv again for volume. the instructions were written by someone who had too much information in their mind and could not write down simple instructions. so far cannot find any answers mo matter where we look. even shaw web site only tries to sell you new stuff. anyone out there willing to help

Great remote, pricey to replace if buttons stop working

Love the remote, however this is our second one as the often used buttons on our first remote stopped working. Expensive to replace.

Button names wearing off, now remote won't turn on

I've owned my HDPVR 630 for a few years. The names on the buttons of my remote (URC 600) have been wearing off, getting fainter by the month, and the most used names on the buttons (down the centre of the remote) have disappeared. For the last 3 months the top right On/Off button has worked intermittently, requiring HARDER presses to get the contact underneath to send the signal to turn the PVR on. Today, it finally doesn't work at all, and I have to buy a new remote.Disappointing - it's the first remote in my life to fail, and money I didn't expect to have spend.

Good Remote

This is a good remote, easy to program, even worked on an older tv that I have and a no name tv as well, just have to keep trying the codes until one works was all, over all great remotes.

Not Senior-friendly

This remote is difficult for a senior to use, especially if they have problems with their manual dexterity. The satellite button is continually getting pushed when my mother turns the TV on and off, which, of course, turns the satellite box off. Overall the small buttons are too close together. Not at all senior-friendly. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any senior-friendly remotes on the market.
