Good purchase

Easy to set up, and does the job well. Will definitely be purchasing more products. Cheers!

Flaky and limited

I bought this to monitor a couple of doors - not asking for much, just let me know if a door opens at night. That's about as basic as it comes. Setting it up was easy - the only documentation that comes with it (or can be downloaded) is how to set this up. Once you do that, you're pretty much on your own. There are a lot of options in the software, but none of them are explained, there is no documentation, and the "support" is a little less than useless. Spent a week trying to get a chat going, only to have to resort to emails, which mostly go unanswered. So if you're not a software expert (and I've been in the software industry for over 30 years) don't expect to be able to manage anything beyond the absolute basics. The features are limited as well. The only thing I wanted to do with this is to send me an alert between the hours of 11 and 7 if a door was open. Nope - can't be done. In one email exchange I was told to program this myself. Even if there was any documentation on how I would go about doing this - is that really the right answer from support? You can't change notification, it claims to connect to IFTTT (and has it built in) but that only work part of the time (hey, random notification if your house is broken into! That's fun!), and even if you use the alarm mode on the unit it's much too quiet to be of any use. So - it's fun to open the door and see a message show up on your phone - but if you want a little more than that, go find something else.

Great idea, not there yet

I was looking to cover an average 3 story house with this system by adding a bunch of sensors. Overall the idea is great and there is a lot of potential, however keep the following in mind for people looking to do the same: 1) The software isn't all the way there yet. I had issues with their iOS app. Certain selections would disappear and i'd have to reset the app. The history of events would keep showing the wrong times that events took place. It would give me sign-in errors randomly for several hours at a time. 2) The minimum delay entry time is 30 seconds. That's a little too much for my taste. I tried using the "no delay" option, so I would enter my code outside my front door before i walked in. That quickly became pretty annoying. 3) If you have any pets, the motion sensors will set them off guaranteed. They're adjustable but only with "low" and "high". Neither worked well with a small cat. I tried covering certain sections of the sensor with tape as suggested by their customer service but it was still not reliable at all. 4) Without having a glass break sensor (they don't make them...yet), you'll have difficulty using the arm "away" vs "stay" function. You're basically relying on motion sensors to do the glass break sensor's job too. But you can't keep those activated while you're inside the house, unless you don't mind turning the alarm off & on just to leave your bedroom or when entering certain sections of your home. 5) If you want a keypad at the entrance, you better hide it in a closet because it looks like those garage door openers with the flap. Those were the biggest issues i dealt with for my situation. I'd suggest this unit more for an apartment, with no pets, and someone who will only arm the system when they leave. App issues can hopefully eventually be fixed via updates.

Great and we're not very tech savvy ppl

Good system- I got my brother to install it, but all the chimes are battery operated so there's no wiring and than the hub of it goes in the back of the modem. Sometimes cause it's hooked up wirelessly it does loose connection but connects back on its own very quickly. The camera to this system hasn't been installed yet- you have to drill a rather large hole into our house for it to actually have "power" So we're waiting to see if we should install it or not...

Working well after 3 months

I have owned these sensors for over three months now and they seem to be working well wherever I have placed them. I would add more sensors as and when needed.

Homeowner

I purchased this system, was very easy to install, the app Works fine on both android and iPhone, it does the job of sounding alarm when a door is open. I am thinking now of adding more sonsors to the system. I would recommend it for others.

Brutal setup

Bought the base system with door sensors and added a motion sensor. The setup was painful. I was unable to pair the sensors to the base and the "learn" feature did not work. I emailed Skylink for assistance and they replied to update the app I had just downloaded. Wtf? Updated the app and it still didn't work. Emailed them several more times for help with NO RESPONSE for a whole month! By that time I had returned the whole system to BB (no issues with the return) and bought a replacement SMANOS alarm from another retailer. Setup of the SMANOS system was a breeze!

Mr

I have been using this system for 2 days now, I liked it, very easy to setup and install, It does the job, works on both Android and IOS. You can setup zones and add logic functions (if -then) so far all is working good. it also comes with 2 alarm stickers.
