Great image, Bad Sound Quality

I was so excited about this TV, but my first frustation happened when I opened the box and I saw a big and heavy AC Power Adaptor, as the same one for laptops (for tv?) It's kind bizarre. And second frustration was about the sound quality. I know the quality of the sound for the entry level tv's aren't exceptional, but definitely for that TV, the sound is very bad. The TV System isn't great, it's kind old, but I don't care cause I was planning to buy a Chrome Cast. This Sony has a GREAT quality of image, but unfortunately it doesn't' work well for me with this bizarre AC Power Adaptor and the quality of sound. I should return this tv in this weekend unfortunetely.

Bad interface

Returned it for 2 reasons. The menu and interface are horrible compared to an Android version. If you a Sony lover like I get the Android version or a Samsung as there interface and the menu is very sharp and feels and works well. The other reason is I kept having to plug it out to reset the internet connection which it was losing on a daily basis.

Fully recovered from short-lived episode of Brain-freeze.

I'll start off saying that I have been a loyal Sony TV client since 1983. Am I aging myself? Well, maybe but that’s OK. My 1st set lasted me without any repair whatsoever over 15 years. I next purchased a projection TV just when the mini-satellite dishes came out, 1998 I think it was. In 2007 my 3rd Sony was a 40” Bravia. Currently, in 2018 11 years later, I needed to make a 4th television purchase. I went online hoping to find a good deal and at the same time not looking to spend as much as I did with my previous purchase. Well, saw a TV, great reviews amongst the over 1600 total reviews made. The price was right. However, it wasn’t a Sony, it was a Toshiba (43L420U). I felt like a traitor, but against my better judgement, I went for the deal. Making sure I asked before leaving the store if I wasn’t happy, would I get a refund or a store credit, I was told yes, I would get a refund. After setting it up and watching for a couple of days, I didn’t like the picture. It varied from channel to channel and also from watching at an angle. At this point I went back online and looked at the Sony TV’s I had seen before on my original search. The Sony 43" 4K UHD HDR LED Smart TV (KD43X720E) was and would have been my original choice had I really needed a “Smart” TV. I knew from experience how great the picture was with all my other Sony’s, especially the 40” 1080p Bravia. So, I repacked the Toshiba and back I went to BestBuy to return one and buy another. Set up the Sony last night. I could not believe what I was thinking besides trying to save a few bucks when I made the decision to buy other than Sony. The difference in the picture quality was like day and night. I realize this set is 4K UHD HDR, but the difference should not have been to the extent it was against the Toshiba. The picture is amazing on the Sony. Setup is easy. The 43” model is a good size, no need to go bigger. It turned out to be a bit more expensive, but if you think in terms over a period of 5 years, the added expense could be equated to having 1 less coffee at Starbuck’s or Tim Hortons each month; small compensation for a much bigger reward. No regrets. I will never attempt to stray from the Sony brand again.

Not an Androd TV

This TV does not have the Andriod TV OS which means no google play store or google assistant which is the reason I considered a sony TV in the first place. Could as well buy a cheaper LG or Samsung tv for the same quality. I'm going to return the TV. XBR43X800E is the android tv variant

Great for a TV AND as a PC Monitor!

I love the picture quality of this TV. The colours look great! I love being able to watch 4K Netflix with the app, and then switching over to my PC. The input lag is very low/unnoticeable when using it in Graphics/Game mode, and games look really good.
