The colors!!! The colorsssssss

I rarely write any reviews. Probably have done so 3 times in my life. After taking the time to calibrate the tv, the colors are very vibrant (calibrated the TV using recommended settings found online. I went from a SHARP (before they were bought by Hisense) to Samsung. Samsung panels and Sony Panels are very different. Sony seems to put more focus on color depth while Samsung puts more focus on detail (skin, hair, etc.). That's not to say that Sony does not put focus on detail, they do. In my opinion and from my experience one brand does more than the other. I am not here to compare the two brands. Simply sharing my experience with both. But damn the colors on the Sony XBR65X900F are so realistic and vibrant. I have to get used to focusing on the color depth that the Sony TV has. Family and friends who have seen the TV seem to have the same reaction "the colors really stand out". So far, very good TV. Looking forward to trying some Playstation games on it. Great TV for watching sports. I am a huge hockey fan and this model does not disappoint. Remember to get the latest HDMI cables (2.0) The android OS has a lot of apps but unfortunately, you are limited to the apps you are able to find on the google play store. Just an FYI, there is NO web browser Some, if not, most of the negative reviews I have read here are incredibly ridiculous and inaccurate. Do your research online and you will definitely get great information about this model I do recommend the Sony XBR65X900F

Enjoy!

Issue with software update

Good concept, highly problematic implementation. I accepted to update software and have had issues switching inputs for about a month. TV quit recognizing any inputs after a chrome-cast video failed to load. It is also stuck on initial settings screen and unable to find my network. When I research online, these all appear to be frequently occurring issues. I have reached out to Sony and am waiting for support. Not pleased at the time and effort required.

Nice Product

My initial hesitation on being this was the poor review of the search menu/apps. I don't find it slow as others and find it not too hard to navigate. The picture quality meets my expectations so far and that is before the tech comes to calibrate. good product so far

Very impressed

I replaced an older Panasonic plasma with this TV and was nervous about how it would perform in the same environment. This TV exceeds my expectations. I'm surprised some people are so negative because this TV is great. I think if it's in your budget definitely well worth it.

Don't pay attention to the negative reviews. This TV is stunning both off and on. I've been a long time Sony customer and this is probably the best TV I have ever owned.

Amazing picture

This TV has an amazing picture...honestly comparable to OLED. The blacks are awesome and has really good off angle viewing. I have it connected to my google home and a sound bar and have no issues with connectivity.Would recommend this TV to others.

It says dolby so why doesn't dolby work???

The tv legs came damaged (not a deal breaker because it was being mounted) but it wouldn't load past the Sony logo when turned on. What a scam

Tv is just too slow

I'm not satisfied with my 900F Sony tv. It is just too slow for me. When I press a button to increase the volume, I expect the tv to respond immediately. Sony needs to upgrade android before I buy my next tv.

Great tv at a fair price

Don't let the negative reviews steer you away from this tv, I have no clue why they rate it that bad. Do your own research and look up reviews on YouTube from hdtv test, and also Google the site rtings. I'm glad I did because when I went into the store their display x900f looked terrible, don't know why they had it set up so poorly, you can simply google the best video settings and there are a lot of results to help you figure out what all the settings are. This is the best reviewed tv at this price range, the x900e was a big hit and the x900f just improves on everything that TV did right. I use this tv for a lot of gaming and with the upgraded chip it handles motion perfectly. I also have zero worries about burn in, unlike the lg OLEDs, which isn't covered by any warranty anywhere, so if you game a lot with static elements on screen that is def something to take into consideration, lg will say it's your fault even though this is a known problem. Even if only 5% of the OLEDs get burn in I'm not paying thousands on a 1 in 20 chance my tv will look like garbage in a few months. The only thing I didn't like about this tv was the feet, but then after setting it up I was able to put my Ps4, Xbox, and cable box between them, so there was no wasted space and I didn't even see them. This tv is quality, there are tv's that are cheaper and reviewed well, but a lot of people have had to return them and get new ones, panel lottery is a real thing. Anyway, I saw the negative reviews and had to put mine on here. Do your own research, look up the best settings, and adjust the tv in bestbuy to see what the picture is like.

Great service, bad product

I used to love Sony, it was my favorite brand. They let me down with this model. Yes, I set it up correctly. Yes, very familiar with Sony TV's and modern technology. The picture looked nothing like it did in store, even with my Sony UBPX800 Bluray player. I had it professionally calibrated as you should and I am still very disappointed. I will be gifting it to my teenage son and will wait for the new Z9. I've had a good run with Sony in the past so I'm willing to give them one more shot. Safe to say I will look at the reviews first.

Sad day

When my 900E stopped turning on after less than a year I was devastated! I bought the extended warranty and Best Buy said they would give me the new model if I wanted to pay the difference. I took it home and plugged it in and noticed the back light kept flickering. Changed the settings, reset it and it was still doing it! Android was not running as smoothly either. Called Best Buy to see if I could get a partial refund and get the 900E again and they said it was discontinued. Really disappointed as I really liked my tv before it broke. Exchanging for a new 900F and hoping no issues this time. Will write a new review if it works.

Horrible experience

Walked into Best Buy looking for the Samsung Q9. They didn't have it, great. I asked when they would have it and they told me a week. I come back in a week and they still don't have it. Same guy working told me to try the Sony 65X900F instead. They didn't have that in stock either but told me they could order it. Told me it would be just as good and the Geek Squad would install it for me. My tv came two weeks later. When they took it out of the box I quickly realized the design was nothing like the Samsung. It was bulky and they legs were awful! The tv crashed 3 times while updating. They finally assured me everything was in working order. THAT WAS A LIE! This thing is a hunk of garbage! It's the most glitchy device I have ever encountered! Not only that, but the thing has the worst blooming I've ever seen! Nothing like the Samsung! I googled the issues and many others have experienced the same thing. Very annoying! Do the employees not do their research before making recommendations? In what world does this crap compare to the Q9! Hoping they will let me return it.

What an amazing TV. The colour and clarity are better than anything in this price range. I've looked at a lot of TV's and this is by FAR the best value TV.

Great TV

DON'T LISTEN TO NEGATIVE REVIEWS This TV is wonderful. Excellent for gaming and for movies/sports

  • from Burlington, ON

Wow, **** work hard on fake reviews for Sony

I have a feeling the reviews posted for the X900F were done by ****. The Sony X900F is a great 4k TV with impressive picture quality, especially in a dark room due to the high native contrast ratio and full array local dimming support. The TV excels at HDR as it can produce bright, vivid highlights. Motion handling is also excellent due to the fast response time and ability to flicker the backlight to clear up motion. The only main negative is the narrow viewing angle, so the best image quality is reserved for those directly in front of the TV, However the viewing angle doesn't affect my rating as Tv's should be viewed from the front anyways.

Cette télé est merveilleuse

Aucun autre modèle ne peut la dépasser sauf la OLED SONY !

  • from Kitchener, ON

Glad I went with the newer model.

Owned this TV for a couple of days now and I can't stop rewatching all my favourite shows and movies! Sony continues to impress me year after year with their commitment to picture quality. My initial plan going into Best Buy was to buy the 900E as I thought the 900F would be an incremental upgrade from the 900E which was praised as the best value TV of 2017. When comparing the two in store I could see that the newer 900F presented a brighter image with better contrast than its predecessor on any content played in store. This combined with Sony's leading motion handling software and colour science made buying this TV an easy choice relative to other TV brands. Absolutely amazing TV. Now back to rewatching my favourite TVZ shows and movies for me!

Picture quality supreme!

Sweet TV. Happy with my purchase. This TV is exactly as the salesman said it would be. Great colour, contrast and a very clear picture. Makes my PS4 Pro look fantastic. Bit expensive but worth every dollar.

Incredible TV Experience! Don't listen to negative reviews...

Downside? Off angle viewing is not the greatest but I understand that is the type of panel the tv has. Upside? Everything else! This TV has great picture quality. Well worth the money spent. The contrast is superb and the motion is the best I have ever had in a TV. It is also very bright. The first HDR movie I watched on it was Thor: Ragnarok. The scene near the end where they are fighting on the bridge looked absolutely stunning! I don't really understand these negative reviews. All products that exist regardless of make and model will have defective units which is unfortunate but is easily rectified by getting a replacement. Perhaps people who aren't enjoying the picture quality have set it up incorrectly or have not gotten it calibrated. This TV does have a lot of potential settings that can be daunting at first to figure out. This is so much better than anything else I could of bought for the same price. You should buy this TV. Trust your sales person when they say this is a great TV for the value.

Can't Beat This TV

For the price, this TV can't be beat. The colour is amazing! I love it so much.

Staff need more training

Came in looking for the new Samsung tv and was convinced to get this instead. I looked up the reviews and showed them to the staff before purchasing and was told that the reviews are not verified and not to pay attention to them. I took a chance because 4 or 5 staff members said this was the best tv and not to purchase the samsung I came in for. Worst decision! I should have gone with my gut. This tv has very noticeable light bleed in dark scenes and is either way too dark or light in others. It washes out the colors and makes it hard to watch.

  • from Calgary

Technical problems

Bought this tv and it didn't even last one day. It automatically turns off. I've checked the settings and called Sony but they are no help. It feels like someone is hacking the remote and keeps pressing the power button.

  • from Kitchener

Will be worth it once I find one that works properly

I've returned 3 of these now due to light bleed on the right and left edges of the screen. It's very slight, but noticeable in various scenes. I will keep returning until I get one that doesn't have this issue as I love Sony. Will change review when satisfied.

I don't even know what to say....

Second tv with a dead pixel from Sony. Unbelievable!

  • from Van City

Not for gaming

My brother bought this after I raved about my 900e. First of all you have to manually put the tv in and out of game mode every time you load a game. This is nothing new, but would like to have seen Sony follow Samsung's suit with auto game mode this year. Second, the tv has horrible lag AND tearing compared to the 900e, and that's with putting it in game mode (which disables most of the tvs processing to speed up for gaming). Overall, I told him to return for the less expensive, and in my opinion, superior 900e. I will say, if you aren't a gamer it is a nice tv. The legs are ugly though.

  • from Toronto, On

Will be a better choice later this year

This tv is only a slight step up over the x900e, which was already an amazing tv, however as of now its way more expensive then the x900e, and also the higher end x930e. Which makes no sense considering the x930e is actually a lot better overall and looks way nicer (if your put off by the design of the x900f, you can invert the legs to improve the aesthetics, or wall mount). Later this year its expected to be priced the same as the x900e, which will be an excellent deal. Also the review that said the tv lags doesn't know what he's talking about, if you put the tv in game mode then the input lag is extremely low for 4k sources, and still relativity low enough for 1080p sources. So this tv is an excellent gaming tv and overall as well, but you should really buy the x930e instead as of now.

  • from North Bay, ON

Regarding Input La for Games.

Not sure about what the person who posted about input lag is gaming on but apparently it’s much worse on original hardware (Xbox One S , PS4) the consoles that output a 1080p signal have around 41ms of lag. This would also apply to the Nintendo Switch. However, the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro both output a 4K signal and the TV set is better optimized for that signal. The input lag on a 4K signal is about 24ms, which is quite a bit better.

  • from Halifax, Nova Scotia

Was really looking forward to gaming on this beauty but the lag is ridiculous. Do not buy if you're a gamer.

  • from Brampton

Android is glitchy

Too glitchy and keeps crashing. Anyone have a fix? I tried factory resetting but no use.

  • from Ontario

Did not like

More expensive than the 900e and not much different. Scam
