  • Disappointed

from Ottawa on May 18, 2019

Worked great for two months. Then....Stopped working properly. First the remote, then the rest. Not going to fight with the unit. Just going to return. Really hoped that unit would last longer.

  • Issue with connector cords... and Cannot use hdmi

from Toronto on April 20, 2019

Despite very supportive chat with Sony tech support, this is not a product I'd buy again. It's slow to power up, remote is stiff, and openclose takes about 4 seconds to open. I could have lived with that... As I consciously bought a budget player. However the new tv I bought is unable to use composite cables as three inputs... and the extender cord isn't working. HDMI would be the next and likely best choice, but the dvd player being a budget version doesn't have that option. While I could buy another extender cord, I likely won't. Will Just replace it all with a new player that matches my TVs input requirements better. (It is a budget version, the price reflects that... So no complaints that it doesn't have the bells and whistles.) I do want to call out the chat room tech support by Sony was really a positive and professional experience... Thorough and persistent in seeking to troubleshoot...

  • Good price but audio connection to the tv doesn't have much strength.

does the job if you are looking for an inexpensive unit. Quite small and compact. Not easy to install. Instructions, like most items these days, very basic. There are two ways to connect the cords so it takes a bit of effort to figure out which works for your tv. Not sure why small units are a problem, but we had to turn the tv volume up almost to the max to be able to clearly hear the dialogue. Normally would be down in the 20's or 30's on the volume scale. As others have noted, no display on the front of the unit. Have only used once and still getting to know the remote. Could see the time played on the dvd, but not sure if it will show me the time remaining.
