Just got these earbuds, absolutely not worth buying this for the price, or buying it at all. I got this shipped to the store and I recieved at the store, upon opening it up the power button on the left earbud wont even turn on even after charging it more than an hour! So since i cant even power it on, I cant connect it to my phone. Also the right earbud makes a white noise, absolutely garbage! Definately not worth the money, you might as well wait a couple of months, probably boxing day to get a good deal on earbuds, definately not worth the money! Would avoid!

  • Great sound, horrible connection

from Grande Prairie on August 22, 2019

After doing some research online, I was torn between getting wireless headphones with great sound, and getting AirPods of the ease of connectivity since I have Apple devices. I went into Best Buy and talked to one of the staff, expressed my concern about NOT wanting anything with connectivity issues between the headphones. He showed me these Sony headphones, and said he had not heard of any issues with the connection, and that it should be fine with an iPhone. I go to the gym so I wanted something with great sound quality, and had noise cancellation. When I had these headphones at home they were awesome, as soon as I got them to the gym and tried to use them, the right headphone was constantly disconnecting. With many wireless devices in the gym, the right headphone WOULD NOT stay connected. The sound quality I love, and I actually like the charging case. Overall, I am very unhappy with these headphones. Hopefully there will be a software update soon to help fix the issues, but I should have bought AirPods.

  • They sound and fit great for me, battery life is middling at around three hours

from Oakville, ON on August 13, 2019

I've owned Sony's higher end in-ears for a few generations now and the sound the wf-1000x are pretty great. Not crazy bass heavy nor as super high clear as the XBA-H3's but a happy middle ground. Unfortunately only AAC and SBC are the supported coding, lacking Apt-X or Sony's own LDAC. Thankfully with my use case (paired with my LG G8 and walkman) I've had no issues enabling AAC and having video stay synced. Normal and Noise Cancelling modes work fine for me. I like having my left button mapped to the Google Assistant who will then read all my notifications and messages, super handy. Battery life in NC mode listening to music is usually just shy of three hours. This is fine for me but could certainly be an issue for others. The charging dock feels premium if a little large, insertion can be a bit challenging at first but isn't so bad. To address some of the issues others are having: Right out of the box these suckers will drop like mad -- make sure you do all the firmware updates within the headphone connect app. I found that no matter what I do having the ambient sound modes (including Adaptive sound control) on do tend to make the right earpiece drop often. I presume since Sony is beaming data from the left to right earpieces that it's just too much for it to handle. Thankfully this doesn't matter in my use case but if this is a feature you are looking for then check out Sony's newer wf-1000xm2. They are the upgrade to this model and resolve many of the complaints surrounding the first model.
