    • The 24.3MP Exmor R APS-C HD CMOS sensor brings out the beauty in even the simplest things. It delivers incredible detail and low noise, so you can capture the fine texture of a butterfly's wings as it rests gracefully on a nearby shrub.
    • The APS-C sensor size, the same sensor format found in Sony's full-sized Alpha DSLR camera lines, combines high resolution, high sensitivity, and dramatic blurred backgrounds. Now you have a reason to stop and smell the roses with a camera that gives you the flexibility to endow even the simplest shots with your personal artistic touch.
    • Bionz X processor works seamlessly with the sensor to produce crisp still images with area-specific noise reduction, true colour rendering, and low noise. Infuse your butterfly photo with a sense of vibrant realism, and capture what your eye perceives, highlighting the subtle beauty of the delicate, brightly patterned scales.
    • Don't let the fading light deter you from appreciating what nature has to offer. High-sensitivity ISO 100-25600 captures beautifully in low light, limiting the noise so every exquisite and vibrant detail pops out. And when you need it, the built-in pop-up flash gives you an extra burst of light for great photos in dim situations.
    • The included 16-50mm E-mount retractable Power Zoom lens is small and compact, barely protruding from the front of your camera so you can still slide your a5100 in your jacket pocket with the lens attached. It features ED and aspherical elements for reliably sharp and detailed images well suited to everyday shooting.
    • Capture the energy behind your moving shots
    • While focusing on the butterfly, a curious black-capped chickadee lands quietly on a low-hanging branch. Whip out your camera, and lock on to that bouncy fellow before it takes off. Capture its distinctive black cap and fluffy, whitish undersides, thanks to rapid 6fps (frames per second) continuous shooting with AF (auto focus) tracking.
    • Enjoy a much wider coverage area with a 179-point focal plane phase-detection AF sensor. Phase detection sensors help focus on the active chickadee as it flits from branch to branch.
    • While you're at it, capture the sights and sounds of a spirited soccer game on the park's wide, open field. Record Full HD videos in your choice of fast 60i for smooth action sequences, or slower 24p frames per second for a traditional, cinematic effect of the entire game.
    • AVCHD codec lets you record beautiful Blu-ray picture quality, while the computer-friendly MP4 codec makes it easy to compress your files and upload to the web. This way you can fully appreciate your recording finesse displayed in Blu-ray quality on a monitor or big-screen TV, or post directly on Facebook for instant updates to your social network.
    Bring it anywhere
    • Strike a pose with a view of the park and the lively spectators in the background, thanks to a tiltable 3-inch 921K-dot touchscreen LCD. It flips upwards up to 180 degrees so you can indulge in perfectly framed selfies or low-angle shots, and change your view on a whim. The touchscreen LCD provides better focusing control, and a more intuitive way to navigate menus and play back recordings.
    • Hold on to your latte with one hand, while fine-tuning your frame with the other. With its perforated, nicely textured grip, and easy zoom lever, this camera is great for one-handed use. Zoom in on the animated spectator energetically waving her arms as the soccer ball soars above the crowd.
    • You'll have no trouble carrying this compact camera around. Lightweight at less than 300 grams with battery and memory stick, it'll sit comfortably in your purse or backpack.
    Share your highlights
    • Wireless file transfers and one-touch pairing with a compatible mobile device are easy with WiFi and NFC connectivity. Sony's PlayMemories Mobile app lets you touch your camera to an Android smartphone or tablet, and create an instant connection through NFC for sharing, remote control, and basic editing.
    • Make the most of serendipity, and take several shots of nature's winged creatures before they take flight. Sony's lithium-ion rechargeable NP-FW50 battery lasts up to 400 shots on a single charge. The innovative InfoLITHIUM battery system lets you see the power percentage remaining so you can shoot with confidence.

    • Disappointing

from Calgary, AB on March 25, 2018

I have to say I am very disappointed at this device. I did a lot of research before decided to go with this one, guess what, tried it for not even for 10 mins and it started giving error constantly. It says 'cameral error, power off and turn back on again'... I went through youtube, google and on Sony website for this issue and try to get it fixed. Most says check lenses, battery, memory cards or reset; some says to take off the lenses and to hold the camera upside down and shake it ...None of these helps. All my research tells me that it is actually a very common problem with Sony camera. I am not a pro so I may not dig deeper enough to fix the problem. But when I heard that this is a issue that can keep coming back, I just decided to return it for a different brand after all these hassles. I do not recommend this camera at all.

    • Great one!

I think it's way better than the one Samuang has
