Good cheap gaming mouse

Buttons: -I love how all the buttons are programmable and especially the software that controls those. -They're all satisfying to use except button 3(scroll wheel button) that is a bit hard to press to use in gaming personally. -Side buttons are a bit loud -Scroll wheel steps are clearly defined and its easy to know how much exactly you scrolled just through feel. Build: I saw another review complain about the rubber sides which is strange because the sides are actually plastic. -The matte soft touch plastic on the back feels very nice and smooth but not slippery. -Cable is thick and durable-especially the USB connector part though will tangle over time if not taken cared of. -Mouse feet(plastic rubber-ish material used at the bottom to reduce friction) have not worn seen visible wear and tear which is great Sensor: -The mouse does not spin out no matter what DPI/CPI (sensitivity) -The sensitivity of the sensor is ,limited to only 8 steps (like gears on a bike) but could easily have 3500 steps (since the sensitivity should be able to be programmed from 500 to 4000) -No acceleration (remember to turn of your operating system's built in mouse acceleration) and low lift off distance (lower the better so im not sure why they give the option to raise) -Can track on any hard surface that isn't completely transparent Ergonomics: -A bit low s- palm gripping can be tiring -seems like to like my claw grip/finger grip -light enough to lift off without slowing movements down I recommend trying the mouse out for yourself in a store to get a feel for it's dimensions Overall its a huge step from the mouses that the typical school or office would use but in my own opinion, is a bit expensive. What you're mostly paying for here is the software (lighting, programmable buttons) and the sensor. Still it's buy you won't regret and as someone who spends tons of time on the computer, I recommend this mouse.

The 0/5 Is Not A Correct Rating

"laser will not work properly on a desk without a mousepad" Clearly This Person Is Not Stated In Mind THAT IT Is AN LASER CENSOR

Great Mouse for the Price

I am not sure how someone could break the buttons off this mouse, but let me assure you that is not a typical experience with this product. it's a great budget mouse, with two very comfortable side buttons and fairly responsive sensor.

Good but not great.

I decided to write this review after I seen someone give it a 1 star. I think this is a very good entry level gaming mouse. Perfect for someone not wanting to spend much money but still wants something thats gaming worthy. I picked this up to use while I researched more on a better high end mouse, plus I liked the idea of having it around for a decent backup. I will point out this is a little bit of a smaller mouse. I'd call it a medium size mouse with a narrowed front. If you have really big hands stop now and go look at something like the Rival 300. This has a decent sensor. It's optical (better than laser) but means you should be using it on a mouse pad but honestly if your planing to game you should always be using a mouse pad anyways. It gives you a reliable uniform service and it also helps the mouse feet in good condition. This mouse also has zero acceleration (thats a really good thing) unless you decided to turn it on with the software. The software is OK. It gives you good control over acceleration, line snapping and polling rate (kinda a form of response time). Being able to control lift off distance is missing but the default amount isn't too bad. You can set 2 different sensitivities which you can toggle between with the button behind the scroll wheel. However you can only pick from preset sensitivities (250/500/1000/1250/1500/1750/2000/4000). Don't worry about it not having something like 16000 DPI since most people don't like going above 3200 anyways. Built quality is good for price. It has a light plastic cable. Some people would prefer braided cables but in my opinion that would add weight and also the roughness of braided would add friction on the mousepad and edges of desk. The rubber coating is fairly nice but the side panels are only textured plastic. Theres some rattle noise from the scroll wheel if you move the mouse quickly from side to side but this is common on many mice, even some high end ones. The side buttons are small but so far haven't given me any problems. This mouse also has nice RGB lighting on the scroll wheel and logo. You have full control over the color choice however there no extra effects like flashing, breathings or color cycling. Just pick any color you want and it constantly glows that color. A little simple but the fact a mouse as this price point even has RGB lighting is a bonus. I'd consider this better than any of the Sensei because the laser sensor is the Sensei is really lacking. If you can afford a little higher than this I'd suggest you have a look at the Rival 300 (unless you have really tiny hands). Also all the Logitech mice at the time of this review are pretty nice too and come in a wide range of prices. Hope this was helpful.

Don't let the others fool you

This mouse has a solid build quality despite being plastic (2 months). Pros: -Looks:Minimalist design -The rubberized top portion is smooth and the left and right mouse buttons are clearly separated -Soft/quiet but responsive clicks -The sides are textured -Safe shape, ambidextrous, great for any type of grip style -Software and rgb color customization -Solid build but lightweight -Optical sensor performs well -PRICE Cons: -Dust gets into the sensor easily it seems, so using a decent rubber mouse pad and cotton swabbing the sensor every few weeks is required -The DPI settings aren't fully adjustable, the DPI increment only goes up by 250dpi each time,s o people that are used to 400 or 800dpi aren't gonna be pleased Small Gripe: side buttons are a bit loud Otherwise a solid mouse and a great value, nit many competitors nothing else quite like it

Best mouse I've ever owned! Tracks quite nicely and its quite sturdy. I bought it in 2013 and its still works perfectly after 3 years! Excellent mouse

Awful mouse made of the cheapest plastic known to man. Mouse buttons broke off after only 5 months of regular use, and the contacts underneath would frequently never work properly. Rubber coating on the sides wore down only a week after buying AND the laser will not work properly on a desk without a mousepad. For 50 dollars you would expect a decent quality gaming mouse. Absolute horsecrap, NEVER purchase this mouse. You should be ashamed of yourselves SteelSeries.
