Swann Wired 8-CH 1TB DVR Security System with 8 Bullet 1080p Cameras - Grey/White - Only at Best Buy

Have purchased and installed 3 of these systems for my home and vacation property. These are wired cameras which adds installation difficulty, but also makes them very stable and dependable. Wireless cameras I have used, (3 different brands), have all failed at times and need to be reset. This isn't possible if you are away. The apps, for apple, android and PC are all good, but difficult to set up. The PC app is a professional application. I am not great setting up software and was able to figure it out. Wireless cameras need a subscription to look at recorded video. This system has a dvr that records all activity. Records in daylight or complete darkness. Have used for over 2 years without a problem.

I bought this on special at Bing Lee and was impressed with how easy it was to DIY install and set up. It took me about a day to install an 8 camera system using conduit and junction boxes so as to make installation look neat and tidy. Using junction box for BNC cable connection makes it easier to replace cameras in the future if required. (See photo attached). For a 2K 1080p HD system the video quality is better than I expected and the system works great with the associated Homesafe View App. Setting up the system and associated app is easy with help from the Swann wizard that steps you through the process. Online support and videos available if you are having problem setting up.

System was easy to setup and get running but there seems to be a lack of support or updates for the HomeSafe View app. Oddly there are big differences between the iPad and iPhone apps. Apps cost a star. Best Buy was good to deal with as I had two occasions where cameras malfunctioned (one went fuzzy, other the light stayed on and camera had no picture) and they exchanged them.

The cameras cables and DVR set up was simple, just follow the steps guide #1. Setting up the Apps and pairing my media device to the Swann system got tricky, got the Geek Squad to come out, they were able to explain everything in that short visit. Very satisfied, I feel relief with this security system.

Got this about a month ago. The system keeps connecting and disconnecting. Its on most of the time though. Not sure if it is a setting or it just sucks.
