Fantastic Remake of a Classic Game

I played the original game as a child and through the time I was a teenager. I personally commend it as the best The Legend of Zelda game due to it being the only one that goes so far out of the box, and is nrly a horror game. The next 3 paragraphs are a small overview for those who haven't played the original game. This starts out in the Lost Woods where Link is searching for a lost friend. He gets knocked out and his horse stolen by the skull kid who manages to slip away as Link comes to. Link chases the skull kid, but to no avail. After a short bit of platforming, Link finds the skull kid who then transforms Link into a deku scrub, and accidentally leaves one of his fairy friends behind. She becomes your companion, as you head towards the land of Termina. On your way there you run into the Happy Mask Salesman. He warns you about the power of the mask and says you need to retrieve it, but he can only stay in Termina for 3 days. The main mechanics of this game are various masks which have various abilities. Some will make you run faster, others allow you to dance, and 4 of them turn you into a different species, allowing you to traverse the world the way they would. You need to complete the game in a span of 3 days before the moon crashes into the earth. Thankfully your Ocarina can reset the 3 days, leaving only your masks and equipment with you. With the New Nintendo 3DS C-stick, one can rotate the camera. Any first person aiming actions take advantage of the 3DS's gyroscope sensor creating seamless and fast aiming. The 3D looks fantastic, and the character models are a lot smoother than those in the original game. The programmers also added some things to make it easier to play the game in general, such as a barrier at the end of the slope outside Snowhead Mountain to prevent you from rolling too far. Also there are now save points as well as the original owl statues which are now all permanent saves, and the Song of Time no longer auto-saves. I dislike the Song of Time no longer saving, as I often rely on it and turn off my game just as I realize I haven't saved in hours. Often I find the bosses and games aren't quick enough to make up for the faster aiming that was implemented, and it takes from the challenge. Outside of those things however, if you've played this game and loved it, you will want to buy it again, it's very worth it. If you haven't played this game but love rpgs/adventure type games, you will also want to pick up this game. Of course if you didn't like the original, you will probably not like this.

Parents Beware!

This is a fantastic game, but parents beware. This game is NOT a happy, cheery, light-hearted game as it may appear to be. If you're buying it for your younger kid, be aware that this game deals with mature themes, such as serious death, grief, and the end of the world. The storyline involves the moon crashing into the planet, and the player has 3 in-game days to stop that from happening. But, because of the way the game plays out, you won't be able to do that at first, so you'll see the moon destroy the world in a scary, pseudo-realistic fashion, many times throughout the game. I advise against any parent buying this game for young children, especially if they scare easily. This kind of imagery isn't for little minds.
