- POWERFUL, Quiet, OLED and BlueTooth - AHHHH !!- May 12, 2020
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 4th-generation TheraBody Theragun Elite is our first handheld massager and we couldn’t be more thrilled. It gets used daily, whether we workout or not. My wife is a long-distance runner and the effect on her legs is nothing short of amazing, reducing post-race post-run recovery time considerably. My usage is more therapeutic, to minimize lower-back pain my regular heated massager doesn’t get. Usage couldn’t be any easier, thumb button on/off with speed controls. The triangular frame provides easy individual access to 90% of the muscles and joints, and it’s even better to take turns massaging with a significant other. The Elite version of this product is not without minor nit-picks. - The 40-pound percussion strength can be on the strong side. - Some attachments can be painful if not used properly - 1750 PPM lowest setting is still quite fast, PROS ——- + easy to use, marked thumb button controls + OLED display screen is bright and punchy + Therapeutic deep muscle tissue massages + TheraBody app over Bluetooth Sync + Wireless, no cord to tangle up + Different attachment heads add to versatility + 120 minute battery life per charge, 3 hours to fill + Triangle frame for muscles accssibility + 5 variable speeds 1750, 1900, 2100, 2200, 2400 + Sleek Jet-Black design with sex appeal aplenty + Quiet Force Technology very low compared to the force produced CONS ——— -lack of pack-in instructions direct you to their site -lowest speed of 1750 still a bit strong -slight weight after extended sessions -minor fingerprint smudge susceptibility -wireless charger costs additional $79 CONCLUSION ——————— If you’ve owned a previous generation of massager, the technology included here likely supersedes it. If you haven’t, this 4th generation gets just about everything right. What are you waiting for?Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- As Good as it gets- May 12, 2020
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impression of the Theragun Elite was the “impeccable design, engineering, and quality construction.” Arrived in the Travel Case along with attachments and power adapter inside, nice case. Setup was simple, charged the battery to full and installed Therabody APP. After charging ran a firmware update then got down to the business of massaging! Using the Elite is intuitive, simply turn it on select the speed you desire and begin your massage session. Though to get the greatest benefit from the system you need to spend time in the APP discovering the Routines, especially those that fit your specific needs. Therabody APP system comes with numerous Massage Therapy Routines you may select from which operate and monitor your Elite massage progress. Each routine shows which attachment to use, how to grip the handle, time, increase pressure if needed, and illustrates specific motion/direction of massage. The APP includes a wide range of routines: - For You (Upper Back, Neck, Hamstring…) - Activities (Interval Training, Run, Recovery, High Intensity, Yoga…) - Body (glutes, quads, hip flexor, abs…) - Ailments (Plantar Fasciitis, Tech Neck, Jet Lag, Shin Splints….) These represent but a small sample of the numerous routine selections available within the APP. You can upload three massage/therapy routines you select from the APP to the Elite that can be run directly without your mobile. Bottom-line you can perform simple massages to therapeutic sessions. The Elite is the kind of massage system employed widely by sports and physical therapy professionals. The Elite employs the New “Quietforce Technology, meaning deep muscle relief at a volume closer to a whisper than a shout” The device is an immense improvement over previous massage units I have used, but not quite a whisper. It is still unquestionably the quietest massage and intense deep muscle massage you will find. Had personal massage therapist for years and can attest that the Elite deep muscle massage is spot on – hit a trigger point in lower back and sensation ran down full length of the leg to the foot. Wonderful. Good Stuff: - 120 minutes run time - Fast charging - USB seamless connection - Comfortable weight - Attachments If you are looking for a home device for daily or frequent use, I would offer that you give the Theragun a good look. It is exceptionally good.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- A Wonderful Night’s Sleep from a Percussive Device- May 10, 2020
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right off the bat...this is not your traditional electric massager. You know which ones I’m talking about; the vibrating kinds or the rolling shiatsu kinds. This is percussive massaging at its finest, and Therabody has done a wonderful job on its next iteration of percussive therapy devices. The Theragun Elite shares most of its design from prior generation Theragun models already in the wild. The Triangle ergonomics on this device is by far the best thing that has ever happened to any electric massage device. I can hold this thing in most any angle and finding that perfect grip comes naturally as you use the device more. The biggest improvement from yesterday’s Theragun is the noise. Dubbed QuietForce Technology, it keeps the Elite running quiet during your sessions. Yup, it sure does, even at highest settings. You're more likely to hear the device thunder through your body. This thing is quiet. The percussive massage itself is very strong; so strong that you can just let the pad float on your muscle and get a healthy dose of tenderizing. I have never been able to do that with any other electric massager and would have to apply force to get decent feedback. That means you’ll have less hand fatigue and can go longer in your session, so if you choose. If you feel the need for more pressure, you can apply force or use a more firmer attachment. It was able to find sore muscles in my body that I didn’t even know that were sore! After a few sessions (and time, of course), the soreness has disappeared. I even tried it against my Tempur-pedic mattress....and it shook the frame!! The OLED display is a nice touch to any device, and this is no exception. Battery life, session choice, speed setting and even app connectivity is indicated on the display. There's not a whole lot going on, and there's no need to be. The rubber buttons are tactile, but my only minor gripe would be the session/speed buttons as they are a bit on the small side as they surround the main button. The Therabody App (both on iOS and Android) is a welcoming aide for us first timers who need a little instruction on how best to use the Elite. What I found remarkable is the predefined sessions to tailor to your needs and….how short the sessions are!! At first I thought there is no way you can get a good session within 6 minutes. In some cases, the sessions were less time than that! The app is very good at training you on how to use the device properly, indicating to apply more or less pressure, and showing you a timeline of how consistent you are with applying the appropriate amount. Once you get a hang of how to run your sessions, you can taper off of the app and just have the sessions saved in the Elite so you don’t always have to have your phone with you. The app can also help you target specific muscle groups if you happen to feel a specific soreness or tweak your body in a negative way. But what I found most mind blowing was the Sleep session. For 6 minutes, you are instructed to target a few muscle groups. 6 minutes. After the session is over, the relaxing feeling just causes me to knock out. I haven’t been able to fall asleep so fast in a long, long time. I’ve modified the session to about 10-12 minutes to work on some sore areas of my body before bed, and I’m off to lala land. I can go a whole week of bedtime therapy before I need to give it a full charge, which takes about 3-4 hours.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Ittt’ssss Ggggrrreeeeaaaattttt!!!!1- May 9, 2020
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not one to use handheld massagers for a long time because they really didn’t help with my lower back or leg soreness. I’ve heard good things about Theragun and decided to try it out. When out of the box, you are greeted with this sturdy carrying case that holds the ELITE, the attachments and power cord. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this massager really gets my aches. Even my wife was impressed with how it really got her deep shoulder pains from a martial arts injury in her past. After about a week of using the Theragun Elite, here are my thoughts. Pros: - Design. It looks like a hand-held whisk, with a triangle grip. The grips (you can hold it in various angles) are ergonomically pleasing to my hands when trying to get my lower back. The grips (the whole device) has a nice rugged feeling and the percussions really dig deep into your body. The OLED screen at the top gives you easy controls of 5 set speeds: 1750, 1900, 2100, 2200, and 2400 PPM (Percussions Per Minute). - Various Attachments: The Elite comes with 5 different attachments. The Standard Ball (comes already attached. Used for overall on large and small muscle groups), the Dampener (for tender bony areas), Wedge (shoulder blades and IT bands and used for scraping and flushing motions that helps decrease lactic acid in muscles), Thumb (for trigger points on the lower back) and the Cone (pinpoint treatment, especially in the feet area). They are easy to detach and attach. - Battery Life: Theragun states that it can last 120 minutes on a full charge. We’ve used it every evening for about 15 minutes for the past 6 days and we still have about 27% battery life before we need to recharge. That’s pretty good. - Handheld: This is what I really love about the Elite. My old massagers that I’ve owned in the past were always limited by the power cord. Yes, you have “unlimited” power but I love the freedom of being anywhere in my home or office and have access to it. Again, you are limited to the amount of charge on it, but who needs to use it for a straight 2 hours? - Bluetooth/App experience: this is a neat feature because you can have different PPM other than the preset 5 on the device itself. When connected via Bluetooth, you can change the PPM on your phone, and don’t need to look at the OLED screen on the ELITE. This is a great feature, especially when I was using it on my back and didn’t want to remove the ELITE so I can see the screen. I can simply use my iPhone. There are several different routines (Sleep, Upper Back, Lower Back, etc) that are usually 6 minutes long. You can also add routines that focus on Body, Ailments, Activities, etc). This is a must use if you own the ELITE. Neutral: - Sound level: it’s not “that loud” but it is a little noisy. Especially if you are massaging the neck area the percussions are loud enough. - The App: I use Apple products and downloading the app was simple enough. I ran into a lot of trouble setting up because it continued stating that “this email is already in use”. I was confused as this was my first ever Theragun product. I backed out of the app and closed it and opened it again and it worked. For the first couple days it would do this until the app was updated. There is a complete new interface and videos, no crashing whatsoever and was able to register my product. I placed this in the Neutral because of my overall initial experience. Cons: - The PPM sometimes hurt in sensitive areas. It can get rough and you cannot lower it under 1750 PPM. - Overheating: It did get warm when I plugged it in the first time to charge it. Noticeably warm. Just be careful. Overall, this Theragun ELITE is a great massager. I can’t wait to purchase the charging dock. Great app experience once you get over the initial problems, but I think they fixed that now. The ELITE really helps our aches and pains of daily life.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- This is the best Massager on the market- May 7, 2020
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Theragun - Elite Handheld massager is a very surprising tool to release tight muscles and tension. Right out of the box the Theragun is very easy to hold and grip. The unit provide a number of hand holds make it more versatile to use. It include several different tips for massaging and they are included in the handy carrying case. The case is very sturdy and has space for the unit, massage tips and charging plug. Using the Theragun couldn’t be easier. There is a multi-position switch that powers on the unit allows you to adjust the speed of the massager and select different custom massage programs. The custom programs can be set up by the included IPhone app. The surprising thing with the Theragun is how quiet the unit is when using it. I have another massager which you plug into an outlet and is much noisier and not as easy to use. For those looking for a powerful, quiet, battery operated massager this is the one!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
