The U1000 model features are frankly hard to beat. You get a boatload of optional safety features you can turn on or off, which provide audible warning signals depending on the feature. I purchased this model in part because these types of features are not built into my vehicle. Overall the video is clear with no issues there. My only gripe for now is the macOS viewing app, as that is in desperate need of an update. If you're running an updated version of macOS, you will run into errors as the software application has not yet been digitally signed by Thinkware.

- Install pain, great cam thoughVerified BuyerReviewed by Zioina - March 27, 2021
The camera itself is great, the software is simple and works. But know before buying how you are going to power it, what you want out of it, and plan ahead. If you are keeping it simple with just the cam and the cig outlet power your good to go, but if you want to take advantage of the other features be prepared to pony up a lot more and deal with some pain's and hidden costs. If you have a larger, longer vehicle or a hatch back and want rear camera you will need to buy another cable, if you want parking monitor you will need to buy the wire kit and battery.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. - Reviewed by thelegendarystormryu - July 29, 2020
Best dash camera I've ever had! I was initially cross-shopping it with the Blackvue DR900S-2CH and decided on this camera set due to it being able to record a higher resolution for the rear camera. I also read that it had better thermal resistance capabilities when sitting in a hot car. So far, it's fitting the bill. I am able to download the recordings from the camera to my Samsung phone easily and quickly. I like it so much I recommend it to my friend who also just bought one.

I upgraded from an F770 to this unit. While on face value, it does well, it is not as big an "upgrade" as I had hoped and expected. I am left underwhelmed. Motion detection video remains blurry. I do not get a very clear picture of the person(s) passing my vehicle. And the WiFi connectivity is much more limited that I had hoped. I had planned to establish WiFi connectivity to my home and work WiFi networks, as well as some around the community, so that the camera could connect to those as the signals are in reach. But the software only allows for one WiFi connection to be stored and can only support WiFi connections whose access protocols are limited to the SSID and password (e.g., those that require a username and password cannot be used). Hopefully future firmware and software updates can correct this.

This product has a great resolution. I can clearly see the cars in the playback. Can't see the license plates but I'm on a phone so maybe on a larger screen I could. Only downside so far is the mounting plate for the front is more meant for cars and not a truck. I drive a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 and the front camera points more down and I'm unable to get the camera pointed as far out. Still effective incase I need to report an accident though.
