PC Gaming Centered Experience

It's a great TV. I first had some issues with my GPU (Nvidia's 400 drivers screwed up my games by making them stutter to crap after a couple minutes), but after reverting I have been able to play whatever I want on the TV. Single player games have been just mind-blowingly good on this TV. The HDR, when set up properly, makes the colors on the TV really pop. Sure, its not the fastest response time (6ms) and isn't exactly the state-of-the-art in a 4K TV, but for the cost it does the job really well. This is not a gaming TV, don't expect any crazy refresh rates. It is not for competitive gaming. I also did not need any of the smart-tv/chromecast-built-in, so if you are looking for the specifics of these features, I cannot guarantee their quality. I did try the casting for youtube videos and spotify, and it was fine for me. The only major issues with the TV: 1. One physical button on the TV. Where's all the other buttons, they just don't exist? If your remote dies, you would not be able to change any menu settings. 2. TV can actually crash or hang. Some unknown amount of use can cause the TV to actually get stuck in between turning on and off. I have to manually plug and unplug it in this situation. But this better not end up killing the TV. It's a odd sight for a pretty new TV. 3. Automatic screen size changes. For some weird reason, the display setting changes from the Native resolution (4096x2160) to a "Full" Option which cuts off the Native Resolution in a game. If you are looking for a TV that is cheap, huge in size, 4K, decent HDR, casual in use, and for a non-competitive gaming purpose, this is [as a 3 month owner] a great TV. Just be sure you look at the issues I have and gauge their significance.

Wow TERRIBLE picture

My parents got sucked into this TV. First of all, its not a SMART TV. This is false advertising. It has chromecast built in and thats not smart. Yet Best BUy says smart in the title line on this website. Upon plugging in at my parents house my heart sank. Right away I saw the familiar blue cast of the worst displays. Sure enough, every on it looks terrible with a washed out haze. Sound was plenty loud and good but thats it. Picture is that of the cheapest no name TV for much less.

NOT A SMART TV

Definitely not a smart TV. Chromecast is garbage and you have to use another device (phone, tablet, etc.) to stream netflix, youtube, etc.. Save your money and go buy a LG/Samsung with built in apps.

Good for the price i paid

I bought this TV a couple of weeks ago almost half off as an open box and so far I'm pleased the only problem i had is the power cord was not in the box; went back to the store and the gave me a cord from another open box. Picture is good and the color is good but the blacks aren't as deep as the old plasma it replaced which is not that big of a deal for me and not uncommon when switching form plasma to LED. The only other thing is it is not a smart TV just has the built in chrome cast so no built in apps or store this is mentioned in another review so I knew before i bought it.

Lasted for less than 6 months

Purchased this from Best Buy during Christmas and now the display is blacked out and does not work anymore. Lucky me to now have to go through the return/exchange process with Best Buy or Toshiba. I tried to register this product through Toshiba Warranty and it's telling me Toshiba does not recognize the serial/model number.... Wish me luck guys.

Toshiba Chromecast Combo

This is a wonderful starter 4K TV. It does a great job of playing 1080p material streamed to the chromecast from your phone. I recommend searching for some 4K material on youtube, especially the glass blowing 4K video. It was quite spectacular. As for the Ultra Hd. It cannot do it using the built in chromecast. I picked up a chromecast ultra and I honestly didn't notice a huge difference. You will be pleased with this tv if you buy it on sale. I got this one for 499 and am very pleased with it so far. It is not worth 899. For that price, get a samsung.

Poor quality

The backlight gave up within three weeks of usage. Apparently a very common issue. Cannot be fixed by yourself. They sell it for cheap because it is a pretty low quality tv.

Misleading advertised Smart TV

Bought this TV in the mind that it was a SMART TV well it is NOT, only will cast over a device like a phone or ipad etc, it is definitely not a stand alone Smart TV. Went back to Best Buy and the salesman couldn’t beleive it was not a real Smart TV, all the rest in the store are stand alone Smart Tv’s. Thank God we got our money back! Went to another store a bought a much better brand, higher refresh rate for 50 dollars more, never again a Toshiba. I will not give it one star rating....

Stop fooling customers BestBuy. This is not smart TV. This is only built in Chromecast TV. A piece of s**t. I return this TV with in 2 weeks. If you looking for a smart TV, do not purchase this TV. This is not a smart TV.

Good Job, BestBuy.

Received this through the bestbuy shipping with a giant hole in it. I kid you not. Someone spent a few minutes trying to hide the damage on the box, then the delivery guy hid that side of the box. RMA on this website is broken, you can't fill it. Try to call their customer support is like putting your d**k in the toaster, good luck trying to talk to anyone else than sales. Good thing I paid paypal, chargeback coming your way since you try to hard to offer terrible service.

DESCRIPTION MISLEADING

BestBuy described this TV as a SMART TV. This is definitely not a SMART TV. You are only able to use the APPs via Chromecast which you have to control over your Mobile Phone or Tablet. Without it, there are no Apps available for download on the TV itself. That was a very big let down for me as I was expecting this TV to contain the Apps directly ON the TV. Also I want to let everyone know that if you plug in a USB Key or a Portable Hard Drive to the TV, it cannot play music files nor can it play even the basic video files. Another big let down for me. I would have at least expected this tv to play the traditional WMV or AVI files. Just want to let everyone know this before deciding to buy... I decided to keep the TV since i already paid for shipping and since I can get all of the above mentioned by just purchasing an Android Box. But it sucks that this is what i need to do to get what i want, when i was expecting all of the above to be done through the TV itself

Terrible Picture

Took this TV back after one week. The refresh rate was so slow that the picture was distorted at times. I spent a great amount of time adjusting the picture settings however parts of the image were too bright while others were too dark. Picture was inconsistent and color was pale at best. Not recommended

Refresh Rate Kills

Hi everyone, This is a good television; easy set-up. Everything is as advertised. But, it was obvious to me right of the box that, the 60Hz-8ms refresh rate killed this television. I am not having a problem with this television but, do make a point not to invite your friends over, to watch a major sporting event. I would recommend this television to others but, I would also make a point to mention the refresh rate. Overall a very good value for the money. Beware of the order on-line, pick up in store thing. You are waiting for your C.C. approval, while someone, drags your item(s) to the till for you, then he/she disappears, Only to wait ten minutes in a empty store, to have someone help you carry a 55" television down the escalator. If I would of had access to a freight elevator, I would of just done it myself.
