  • how it really works: toshiba TY-Lp200-usb turntable with speakers

the good : visually appealing -and somewhat fun . the bad : 1) the VOLUME control buttons ONLY adjust the speaker volume -NOT the download volume . 2) the RECORD Function _ button with RED light indicator will frequently during a recording Go OFF . No reason given. It Occurs at any time . So if you want the whole Vinyl File , you will have to sit and watch it. 3) the Ceramic stylus is very poor quality- which means F, FF, and FFF (F-Forte) levels of music on your Vinyl can and will sound harsh and unpleasant .Poor dynamic range . 4) the download to USB will only be as good as the pressing when the Vinyl recording was made . Important -it has no Headphone Jack-and you must use a very good quality Anti-static brush to reduce noise the ceramic stylus seems to enhance .

  • Pretty good for the entry-level vinyl listener

Got mine on sale, so at the price I paid it's definitely a good deal. Looks great, speakers have a nice deep tone to them and a fair amount of volume, I guess further down the line I'll probably end up replacing them with larger ones, but for now they're fine. The transparent plastic cover tends to come away from the hinges if knocked, but it clips back in pretty easily.

I received this as a Christmas gift and when I set it up the turntable was wonky and doesn't spin flat. I returned it and got a new one but the turntable was the same and this time only one speaker worked. I returned it again and got a third one delivered to my house. That time the turntable was still the same and one of the speakers was not working once again. I also found that the clear cover does not stay open. I will be returning this product for the third time. Best Buy has been super great to deal with, and have honored the black Friday price all three time returning it. Unfortunately, I will be getting a refund this time rather than trying out the same model for the fourth time. I love the look of this record player; I really wish this product worked!!
