The smart plug is loosing connection

The camera is good and easy to install, but the smart plug that comes with it is always loosing Wi-Fi connection and requires resetting it frequently. That being said, it does not affect the functionality of the camera.

Decent unit

The picture keeps getting distorted. I have to keep refreshing to remedy this. It's a bit of a pain but at least it does the job. The recordings look OK. So it's probably not the hardware. Probably the software for the phone needs to be improved to remedy the situation. Overall not bad.

Good when it works, but overall unreliable.

Easy setup, and good when it works. But it missed about half of the motion events. And some that it did pick up, it would not send alerts to my phone. I'd check afterwards and see the recordings there. I tried two different ones, hoping the first was defective, but had no luck. Reading some other reviews and it seems to be a common theme.

Would be good if...

I bought this instead of a doorbell camera (Ring, etc.) hoping it would be a good solution. It wasn't. It didn't connect to my WIFI well which is 15 feet away. I had numerous calls with their tech support and was still unable to solve the issue. Tech support was friendly and tried their best to help but no luck. So back to the store it goes today in favour for a doorbell camera solution that will hopefully work!

Best security camera I came across so far

I tried other big name security wireless cameras for my house and had to return them because of the defects or poor quality of the camera. I didn't like this one as it doesn't have local storage and you have to pay for the premium plan in order to keep the recording for one week. I decided to give it a try since the other one didn't work and I don't have wiring at the front of the house. Having attached this camera to the external light is the only option. It turn out it has most clear vision as you can see as far as the other side of the street. The sensitivity is good. You can set the light on auto or turn it on/off manually on your phone. It was easy to install but it is not discreet at all. The app is very simple, you can only view your invoice and change password. I will buy another one for the back of the house if it comes with local memory.

Best IP Security cam so far

This is the best IP camera so far. The live view is much more stable than the Ring Spotlight. Ring Spotlight only work 50% of the time. IT always get blank screen when doing live view. I returned it without install it. The Toucan is super easy to install. i read the review that the motion sensor is too sensitive. Thats why i just install it on the ceiling in front of the front door. I dont need to monitor the street which can only trigger the motion sensor by cars or trees and the shadow when windy. so pointing the camera down is the best bet. Beside, i have 3 porch light outside which control by one switch. That mean i can't install the Cam with my porch light since the power of the light have to be constantly on. How can i get power to power up my Toucam Cam? The Toucan Cam using USB to get power. There is an outdoor plug on the ceiling next to where i want to install the Cam. So i use the samsung usb wall plug and plug in the socket on the ceiling, then i plug the Toucan Cam usb cord to the samsung wall plug. Working great! When someone walk to my door, there is a greeting play from the speaker of the Toucan Cam. So people will look up and notice there is a Cam and being recording. There a lot of greeting u can choose from. I just picked the chime sound. U got 2 hours free to playback what u have captured in the veido from their cloud service. If something really happened, i think u will playback the video right away, so 2 hours window is long enough. For Ring Spotligh or other Ring product, u have to pay for playback the video from the cloud. The main point is stable Live view and easy installation. Two way audio can really trick those intruder. They have on idea if anyone in the house. I think im the only one who install it on the ceiling. But sometimes u need to think outside of the square. Oh. the speaker volume is adjustable and loud enough. If u set off the alarm during live view, it definitely can scared away the intruder.

Easy install outdoor cam

I installed my camera in my backyard to watch my dog when I am away from home. I like the idea of this camera, without drilling the wall but still able to set up the camera through my outdoor light. The app is easy to use and control; whenever my dog walks by, I can see him through the app and talk to him with the speaker. I love it, it is awesome!

Works great for me.

Works as described and ordered another as it is on sale. Other had problems but perhaps a firmware update fixed issues?

Unreliable detection

I had such high hopes for this product, but it's too unreliable. The detection algorithm is too finicky. It misses about half of the people who come to the door or gives too many false alerts. There is supposed better detection if you subscribe to their month service. They also claim to have an infrared proximity sensor, but it doesn't appear to be the case. My sense is that the camera uses software detection on footage. Given how unreliable it is, I would not recommend it.

Motion detection not consistent.

Adjusted motion sensitivity and it still would not reliably detect motion. I like the idea of this product, it just doesn't work well.

Working, yet I am not satisfied.

First of all, I pretty like the idea of this product. My hose does not come with power line for ring bell, so originally I was shopping for a digital ring bell like "Ring". The only option I had is the original "Ring" which runs on battery. I saw many really bad reviews on the product's battery life, so I decided to look around. Then I found this product. It looks perfect for me since it is using the power from your existing door light and it will ring automatically when someone approaches. And since it is not integrated into the light (like their original product), everyone know there is a security camera. It will definitely scare some bad guys away. Back to the camera, it has a good quality and it is very easy to install. In the package it also has 4 "secured by KUNA" sticker so that you can put them on your windows to scare bad guys. The camera using a motion detector to detect people around and it is not working properly! For most of the time, the camera is triggered when there are absolutely nothing around it. There are no birds, no cars, no humans, no bugs, nothing. For many days, it keeps telling me there is some one around every 2 mins for the whole day! Yes, you can lower the sensitivity of the detector, but it will not solve the problem. Currently my setting is 20 and it still have this problem but less often. It creates another problem: when there is actually a person at door, it won't ring! Recently the KUNA has introduced a new function called AI detection. Basically it use the camera and some algorithm to detect people and cars. I think it may fix my problem. But, the functionality is only available for premium plan subscribers, which cost 20 bucks per month (can be shared between 8 devices). The company said it will bring it down to entry level plan subscribers "soon" which will still cost you 5 busk per month (control one device).
