TP-Link Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer Light Switch - 3-Pack

I have several of the regular TP-Link switches installed in my home, so it was great to see a dimmer available...and on sale. Worked perfect with the Kasa app after setup. Two things to note...the back of the switch is large, and when I installed it with a regular TP-Link into a double junction box, it was definitely a tight fight. Eventually everything fit in there but it was a little bit of Tetris to get everything into the box. Second note is that the power in (line-in) and load (out to the light) terminals on the side are not marked, so you have a 50/50 chance to get it right the first time. Even if you're wrong, no harm, just reverse the wires and all's good.

I usually avoid TP-Link products after many bad experiences with their early wall plugs, but I needed a wall switch with dimmer function and this was the only one I could find readily available. I was pleasantly surprised. They were simple enough to install, fit fine in the boxes, and the setup was much better than before with their app. Despite that, I still linked it to my Google home, and I haven't opened their app since. Everything works well, dimming, on/off, no connection drops. I will definitely purchase these dimmers again in the future.

I installed this product into a bank of three. Two other switches in the bank. This one was installed for my porch lights. My wonderful neighbour next door, dear friend, found that when I replaced my porch lights with LED, they were bright enough to shine into her bedroom, and disturbed her. I installed the TP dimmer switch to control the brightness. I have set the program through the app to dim lower at around 10:30pm and everyone is happy. Controlling the app is a great improvement. I can check on it if I am away. Installation was really simple, by following the included instructions. Great product!

Excellent wifi switch. Integrating the Load line and Live line directly on the switch with screw connections rather than having 2 black cables coming out of it, to be connected to the box using the electrical caps, makes wiring simple and easy, not to mention some space saved inside your crowded wall box. This allows more room to push the switch inside, with a nice flush with the wall, when the face plate is installed. Do not go by reviews about issues trying to remove the face plate from the switch, for the switch install. I had no problems removing the switch plate - just used a small flat head screw driver underneath the switch and easily lift up the plate. Putting back the plate was a simple snap push. The App is excellent and shows intensity levels of the dimmer light. Very happy.

If you are planning to drive Leds that are high in wattage expect flicker as you start to dim below 50%. You can calibrate the switch to stop dimming just before lights begin to flicker. Besides the low power rating 150W led 300W incandescent it's a nice switch for it's price. Just make sure your lights are below that threshold.
