TurboTax Basic 2021 (PC) - 4 Returns

The biggest hassle with your product, year after year, is that it makes it difficult to put in a rental amount for property tax. I always have to google it and get frustrated, and only caught it because I review all of my forms in the software and noticed the application for more credits. If you could make it a question, or even just link the pink ontario tax form so that it takes you to the place to enter your rent (instead of telling you there's an override and then refusing to direct you) it would save a great deal of time - especially considering there are 50 or so pages of the same question on just your forums, let alone others. I wouldn't recommend this for students paying off their loans or anyone not familiar with maximizing RRSP contributions. During the interview TurboTax referred me to STANDARD for that so I'm not sure how well I did with this tax review but since I don't have school-related stuff I think I'll be okay (not sure about my sister who I think is struggling to pay back OSAP and works inconsistently.) Otherwise TurboTax Basic is fine if there are no complications in your financial situations. (I however will be going back to using Standard for next year so I won't have to worry about how well would the software cover each of my family's tax situations.

Well I have used this program for years and this is the first time I have had an issue. Your "rate this program" menu. I thought I had my return filed April 24th, as it turns out I had missed the drop down selection to net file my return. Thank you for hiding what should be the simplest and most important part of the process under a drop down menu that starts with nothing to do with completing my taxes. Are you telling me I must complete this survey before filing my return? Two months later I am wondering what has taken so long and I find out "I haven't submitted my return". Rate this product? yah sure KEEP YOUR GARBAGE OUT OF MY WAY!

I do the taxes for my wife and I combined. We are simple and poor so our taxes are easy, but when it came to netfile I found the set up confusing. I was confused if netfile submitted for both - the turbo tax indicated both our names. Sure scrolling down showed my wifes return needed to be submitted but if I hadn't scrolled. A note indicating both person need to submit even if done together. Also I have to pay and my wife gets a refund. Do I really have to pay or is it calculated to the amount turbo tax shows and the CRA just sends that?? I am assuming I have to pay and then my wife gets the full refund amount - but an explanation of that would be great.

I hate doing my taxes. I can, my book-keeping dad taught me, but I hate it. Add that to the fact that my health spiraled down the toilet and you have the reason I suddenly realized I was several years behind on my taxes. I've been absolutely dreading fixing this. But gee golly whiz (I apologize for the phrase but it was this or swearing out my relief) did TurboTax Basic ever make it quick and easy for me. I've only done the oldest of my overdue taxes so far, but I'm going to stick with them for the rest. Thanks whoever the heck it is that provides this service. Intuit right? Yeah. Them. Thank you so much. Definitely recommend.
