  • Decent chair when it's not broken

from Halifax, NS on 16 octobre 2018

I've had this chair for a year and a half and despite me being 200lbs under the rated maximum weight I keep having problems with things breaking. The wheels have broken and one corner of the base bent and tilted the entire back of the chair. Vertagear support has replaced things within warranty both times but it takes weeks for them to answer emails and ship the parts which means you have a broken chair during that time you can't use. It's too bad as I enjoy the chair quite a bit when it was brand new especially all the adjustments and the fact it is firm and a good sized chair for a larger person (6'2" 250lb). The previously mentioned issues combined with the fact that it pops and squeaks now on nearly every movement makes me worried about when my warranty is up in a few months.

  • Overall Disappointed

from Hamilton, ON on 27 décembre 2017

I bought the all black version of this chair on sale. I've now owned it for about 3 months, and I felt I should write a review because it has been such a letdown. I had high expectations at this price point, but the Vertagear PL6000 is simply not worth it. While it has some redeeming qualities, the bottom line is that it's not very comfortable at all. Pros: - Fairly good build quality. The faux leather seems thick and durable, the wheel base is a thick steel, and though the wheels are plastic, they seem to be quite thick and good quality (however, I am not 350lbs like the other reviewer, and cannot speak to how well they hold up under that weight). - The number of adjustments is nice. The chair back reclines so deeply that you can lie flat if you want, and the rotating tension adjustment feature for the chair base tilt is very convenient. - The chair is reasonably wide, but not exceptionally so. If you are a bit wider than average this chair will work for you, but if you are big and tall I doubt it would be wide enough. Cons: - I read that this chair sits high, and it was no exaggeration. I am nearly 6 feet tall and at the lowest position my feet barely reach the floor. This means for the vast majority of people the chair is not usable, and you would need to be might tall to want to raise this seat above its bottomed out position. - Because this chair sits so high, the chair base tilt feature is virtually useless. Tilting the seat immediately lifts your feet off the floor and puts a lot of pressure on the back of your legs. Sitting in this position for even a couple of hours results in serious lower back pain and tightness. Prepare to foam roll your back afterward if sitting tilted for any length of time. - This chair is FIRM. The padding has almost no give. It's not so firm that it's uncomfortable, but it doesn't exactly promote comfort either. - The horizontal angle adjustment on the arm rests is not very useful, and is more of a hindrance than a help. The mechanism that locks the arm rest tops into place is not very strong, and they usually rotate out of the standard straight forward position if you use them as a grabbing point just to move the chair across the floor. - It's simply not very ergonomic. You expect to be able to sit in a gaming chair for longer than a regular chair without feeling the strain, but I have used much simpler, much cheaper chairs that do a better job of keeping me comfortable during a long gaming session. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this chair. I bought it on impulse without trying it first after my old chair kicked the bucket and I am paying the price. Don't be me!

  • over priced !!!

from Fort Erie, ON on 2 mai 2017

Spend a fortune on a chair only to be disappointed overall quality is good until you get to the wheels. nothing but plastic pieces of crap. supposed to support 350 lbs sure but not when wheels keep blowing apart. you would think that you would not skimp on one of the most important pieces that is going to be under some stress. what crap, and this is supposed to be the cheaper competitor to DXracer!! thanks for an overpriced janky piece of crap!!
