Vitamix 32 oz. (0.9L) Dry Grains Container / Blending Jar

Bought this for the purpose of making powdered sugar and grinding fresh coffee. I have made powdered sugar out of coconut sugar (pictured) and organic cane sugar. Both blend up beautifully. I can't tell the difference between the powdered cane sugar and store bought. Love that this makes organic powdered sugar affordable and easy! Grinds my coffee beans up perfectly with little effort. Have also made oat flour with this. Well worth it. Very satisfied with what this can do and how well it does it compared to using just the regular container. Highly recommend if you're looking to grind dry stuff.

I've had my Vitamix for over 10 years. We used it a lot at first, and then only sporadically. Now, we have transformed our diet using Dr. Gundry's Diet Evolution and are consuming fresh foods that have the least toxins. The dry grains container is perfect for making nut flours, breaking flax seeds, grinding coffee (I know, I used to be a fresh bean aficionado and have to worry about heated blades on the coffee bean. I'm over it, speed and accuracy work way better for me.) This container is also small enough that I can ditch my Magic Bullet - haven't used it once since getting my smaller Vitamix containers.

I always wanted the dry grain container to complement my tall all-purpose Vitamix container, but never thought I'd use it enough. I bought this with my Vitamix credit from their settlement so I paid 1/2 price. Only used it once so far but it was fun to watch! I don't understand the difference between food swirling upward vs. downward but it definitely worked perfectly for the sugar that I had to grind to become caster sugar/superfine sugar--never even heard of it before. Now that I have it, I'm counting on the "if you build it they will come" philosophy--& hopefully I will use it more. Only wish it came with the shorter tamper, would have been nice of them to include it--I'm not buying one, will make do.

I tested our brand new Vitamix dry container for teflon bearing debris by running it on 10 for 1 minute using clear water and then emptying into a white bowl. The container repeatedly generated dark-rose colored debris (see photo). I have returned the container under warranty.

I have found many uses for my Dry Grains Container including: grinding dog kibble for pup who has a tough time chewing. I was able to replace/recycle other small appliances, such as, my coffee grinder because this does the job, and does it well. However, the unit did not come with a tamper. This doesn't make sense to me especially for the price paid! When working to grind dry grains you most certainly need a tamper. I am very disappointed and refuse to spend more money on the tamper; thus, it makes this dry container limited on what it is intended to be used for. Very misleading.
