Using my Android phone was able to download the app in order to configure the plugs without an issue. The app does allow to have a third-party assist such as Google or Alexa. I use Alexa and have had no issues with the plugs. App is easy to manoeuvre to name the plugs and configure into groups quite easily. You can group and rename using Alexa and it automatically updates linkwise. I have other brands of smart plugs and find they all work the same. Just read the instructions fall it step-by-step and you shouldn't have an issue. Have had for over a month and have no complaints.

programming works fine. app is unwieldy and asks for way too many permissions. I know they need access to photos and contacts to turn lights on and off. Really! doesn't need a hub but had a little problem syncing with alexa echo dot

  • Good price, and works well when you get it working

I bought a 4-pack of these on sale. The form factor is nice - you can install them on one half of an outlet, and it doesn’t block the other half. They also function well. The problem is in the set-up: these devices only work on 2.4 GHz wi-fi, and need to be configured with a mobile device like a cell phone. I was able to use smart steering on my router to get them on the 2.4 GHz band, but my iPhone is a dual band device, and I also had to temporarily force the router to kick it to 2.4 GHz and ignore the 5.8 GHz band just so the phone could talk to the plug and complete the set-up. Even so, it took multiple attempts with each one to get a successful set-up. Now that they’re configured, no problem - they work well through the app and HomeKit. However, not sure I really saved much money in the end considering all the time I spent troubleshooting the set-up.
