  • 2 x Wemo Mini Smart Plug
  • Quick Start Guide

  • Perfect for holiday decorations

These WEMO plugs are super when outlets for holiday decorations are behind furniture. You just need to move furniture to install/remove a plug; turning it on is easy and doesn’t require bending down. It’s even easier when programed for time-of-day use.

  • Kind of a Hassle to setup
    by JBDragon

So I just got a 2 pack of these things, with 1 in mind to control the Cristmas tree lights. I'm a growing Apple Homekit House and I know these work with Homekit. Well I had some setup issues with this. First I couldn't get it to do anything as it kept failing. Then I looked into my phone Wifi settings and noticed I was connected on the 5 Ghz Network. The app never mentioned making sureyou are connected to the 2.4 Ghz Network. But I figured it out, and got to the next step. Oh, but the way, I first tried just setting this up with Apple's Home app and had no luck. Then I did a search for a app and found it and downloaded it and went that route. Anyway, I got to the next step to try and connect and entered the wrong password and so it sat there failing to connect, but it just sat there forever until I stopped the app. Then I tried again and it failed. It wouldn't ask me for the password. Then I noticed the remember the login info switch on and so I turned it off. Why is it remembering a FAILED connection??? Then I got it finally working. Then I couldn't figured out how to set up ti turn on and off at a specific time in the Wemo app. So I went back into Apple's Home app, and was able to add it. But of course the code in on the back, so it's unplug, get the code, plug it back in and wait for it to boot up once again. So I got it working in Apple's Home app, and setup the time to turn on and a time to turn off in Apple's Home app. That seems to be working. There was a software update and did that and that went without a hitch. Having done a number of Homekit devices, this seemed a little bit of a hassle. Even on my Echobee 4 and Rachio 3 which support Homekit, Alexa, and Google, they were easier to setup. I do really like the size. You can turn on/off withthe button manually if you want. It doesn't block the other outlet is is a plus for me. The overall design is great. It was set the setup process that is a little confusing. Now that I've figured it out the other one should be a little easier.

  • It’s great, most of the time

I have been using these plugs for a couple years. One has been flawless, the other quits communicating with the router once in a while. The problem is it takes a lot of attempts to re-establish communications. Reboots, resets, etc. It does work with alexa to make outlet control easy.
