Overview

Smarten up your home with the WeMo Mini Smart Plug. It lets you turn any electrical outlet into a Smart Plug, giving you control over devices, like lamps and heaters, using the free WeMo app. It works with Nest Thermostat (sold separately) for home-away control. It also works with IFTTT, allowing you to find automated recipes for even more control.

More Information

  • Control your home from anywhere: Set automatic schedules for any device that's plugged in, like synchronizing your lamp to turn on at sunset, using the free WeMo app from your compatible mobile device.
  • Works with Nest: Pair with your Nest Thermostat (sold separately), to use Nest's "home" and "away" modes to sync with your WeMo Mini for automatic control.
  • IFTTT compatible: It works with IFTTT (If This, Then That) to open up a world of possibilities for your home automation setup. Create rules and schedules to control electronic functions even when you're far away, like scheduling the coffee maker to start brewing before you wake up. With IFTTT.com you can search for recipes that others have already created to make home automation even easier.
  • Convenient connectivity: WeMo Mini Smart Plug uses your existing home Wi-Fi network to deliver wireless control over any connected device, such as lamps, heaters, fans, and more, without the need for expensive hubs or subscriptions.
  • Compact design: With its sleek form factor, WeMo Mini fits into any electrical outlet without obstructing other sockets, allowing you to plug in an additional WeMo Mini (sold separately) or another device in the same outlet.

Super Reliable and HomeKit Compatible w/o HomeKit bridge

I have tried a number of switches for use in my HomeKit setup and these have been the most reliable at the best price. I ended up buying 4 of them. The Koogeek plugs are the only others I would recommend for use with HomeKit. As for HomeKit compatibility, these switches now use a software protocol opened up by Apple which means that you DO NOT need to purchase the HomeKit bridge anymore to use these with your HomeKit setup. Setup was easy and they have been rock solid ever since. Highly Recommend

Works as intended

I bought 2 of these plugs on sale almost a year ago and they both work since then without any issues. I set them up through WeMo app without issues. I tested them with Google Home and they work but with few seconds delay (due to the cloud). However, full functionality you'll get through IFTTT. I set one for xmas tree to turn on when we are at home and off when we are away (using Nest thermostat Away/Home events). I also used them to turn on at evening when on vacation. However, using IFTTT won't work when internet is down. Best thing would be setting your own automation server at home. The only con is the price. Good purchase when they are on sale.

Easy to setup, no connection issues. Works great!

Didn't have any problems setting this up to my wifi or enabling remote access. No problems adding this to my Google Home or setting up various rules with IFTTT. I have a few Wemo products and they haven't disconnected (knock on wood). Really pleased with the product and have recommended them to many.

Works only in one geographical location

Very limited. I bought their Mini Outlets (still can't get it to work right as it keeps disconnecting) and Light switches to use in both my cabin, office and at home.... :( NOPE they will only work on one network which means I can't use in both places... How dumb is this?! So I had to return all of their product and bought another brand that does work in multiple geographical locations. I wish the WEMO and BestBuy websites would have told me this as I wasted along of time connecting and then uninstalling all these devices.

Works as expected

Bought 2 of these and then bought 4 more. These are perfect especially when we always forget to turn off the lights. Belkin makes great products.

Works just fine, no issues with wifi not connecting

Bought this plug and it works just fine, not sure why people say it won't connect to their wifi.. I use a telus router not even a good one, but it is a dual band router.. the wemo plug connects to the 2.4ghz band no problem.. Never had an issue with it and use it daily.. Works with google home mini and IFTTT app on android.. I even set it for my lamp and made an "Illuminate" and "Deluminate" command using IFTTT and Google Home Mini.. I love it and will get another if I need one, my friend also bought some for his Mom for xmas...

Great item! Easy setup!

Great item! Installed in less than a minute. I already own several wemo products . This one is exactly as easy to installed as all others.

As mention Setup is a pain

As for setting up this device it took numerous tries but it did finally work. Once it was added (I have a few Wemo devices) there has been no issues at all. If you have the patience to get through a horrible setup process its pretty solid. I would advise checking your wifi signal strength in the area you wish to plug in, if that spot is crucial I suggest investing in an extender and going through that.

Buy TP-LINK Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini (HS105) Instead

I bought two WeMo mini smart plugs and returned them almost immediately. The setup process was horrible, it is all done through the WORST APP i've ever used (don't believe me, look at the rating and read the Play Store reviews). The WeMo app is really embarrassingly bad, and thus, makes these plugs bad. Had a terrible time setting recognising the plugs, google home would not connected to my WeMo account for voice and remote control. Overall a terrible experience. Many have had the same experience as well. Took them back, got two TP-LINK Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini's (HS105) for slightly less money and couldn't be happier. The TP-LINK app was buttery smooth, setup was easy, works greats with google home. Moral of the story is.....don't buy these WeMo plugs, get the TP-LINK mini instead.

Easy to setup and work perfectly as all my othe Wemo devices! WOW!!!

Great items! Easy to configure as all other Wemo products. I own more than 30 Wemo units. from Wall switches, insight Plug, Light switches, New Wemo dimmers, Newer Wemo Mini and Belkins Cameras. All of them were easy to setup. The setup is done in less than 5 minutes without pain! If it's your first time... RTFM !!! :-) I just added Google mini and Google Home,,,Now all Wemo products can be turned on or off using a simple voice command! WOW! 2 years ago i added a 240V / 120V coil relay to a Wemo light switch I can now control my pool pump and easily add timers and control it using my iphone. This summer i added 3 outside 200W LED lamp. They are now all connect to 3 Wemo wall switches They are also activated using voice and/or iphone command! . New Wemo dimmers are also great! :-)

It was a breeze

I just installed this 5 minutes ago and it was a breeze. I'm not sure what everyone else is having a hard time with, but I followed the instructions to the letter and voila first try it's connected to my phone and my G-Home. If you don't hear back from me in a week then you can assume everything is good. Ps it took me longer to type this review than it did setting things up.

BELKIN WEMO = WEJUNK

Purchased this item and set it up and talk about a royal pain in the back side. I am not a beginner when it comes to computers as this is what I do for a living and I ensured that I met "ALL" conditions that they suggest on the web page and FAQ section and low and behold it does not work. This item is horrible to setup and does not want to hold a static IP that it is given by MAC address or otherwise and wants to go off on it's own and grab a different address. All other items I have are working just fine. The Google home mini I purchased has a static IP and is happy as well as a no name brand socket I got from another place that is happy at all time even during power outages. The short of it is 'DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM" it is belkin garbage do yourself a favor and get something that is reliable and works without fail. If a Senior Systems Admin has trouble setting this up what does that tell you!

WeMo Mini

I have several WeMo switches at home. This appears to be a newer replacement for the switch. The setup is always a disaster, erroring in the app during setup. Which usually means it is setup already. I bought the mini and experienced the same issue. Once working though, I have never had more then the odd issue where the switch or mini is not recognized in the app. A refresh in the app corrects and shows all active wemos. Once setup, any issue is rare and for the most part works as its supposed to. I have set these up with my google home mini and it’s works well and without issues. For the most part I would recommend these items, just be aware of an occasional bug here and there.

TERRIBLE

I own 6 Wemo devices, and was pleased to see that Wemo had built a device that would allow the second plug to be used on an outlet. When it went on sale, I bought two of them! After 4 hours of attempting to get the Mini to connect to the network... I gave up. If you check the Wemo forum, you will find many people complaining at the inability to connect. Buy this item at your own risk! It's terribly programmed. I will return both of them tomorrow.

Configuring took a while

Trying to get this to configure was a little annoying, after some repeated attempts with power resets it finally was added. You should check it will be somewhere you have reliable WiFi signal strength and not much to interfere. Once it finally configured it has been working perfectly.

Absolute rubbish, avoid

Works fabulously, unless you want it to work for more than a day. Needs to be manually unplugged every 24 hours to reset it as it drops the connection to the router. Pointless. Avoid this and buy another brand instead.

Piece of junk

Won't connect to WiFi, and Belkin support wants you to reconfigure your router in order to accommodate their needs. I checked online, and there are hundreds of people having the same issue and venting in the WeMo chat forum. Buy on the the competing devices. They work outta the box with no reconfigure required. I had bought three of these and a couple of light switches. Taking them all back.

how is this different from the other models?

Has the issue been fixed where these things literally will not connect to wifi and belkins response is to get you to fiddle with your router? Ya right. Junk products, junk company.
