  • Ballin' On A Budget

Couldn't get a shiny PS5 or a Series X? Fear not, this thing is pretty solid, too. No, you won't get "true 4K" textures, but the upscaled visuals hold up. No, you won't get a disc drive, and that's a caveat for anyone with existing library of physical games. However, if you're new to the platform, or an existing Xbox gamer who prefers digital purchases, this is a great buy. Just be prepared to grab expanded storage at some point. 512 GB (before storage loss to system/quick resume cache) is only enough for a few AAA games at best. Also, the included game content isn't a code included in the box, so don't freak out. The extras show up as an optional one-time redemption during setup.

  • Worth!!!

I decided to switch from PS4 to Xbox and the switch was well worth it! The little guys capable of doing a lot triple tasking 3 large games without even being hot! I suggest to somewhat prioritize the tb expansion card don’t have a lot of space sadly.

  • Terrible storage, can't play but 2 games
    Reviewed by Kkilmore89 - January 4, 2022

This is one of the most aggravating consoles I've ever owned. The storage is Terrible and honestly that's the only problem I have with it. But it's enough of an issue that I am returning this console and going back to current generation consoles. Because it's a series s it requires every game to be downloaded into a series s/x experience so the games are massive. I can only have 2 games downloaded but you can't download the older non series version of the game and play it. So either you buy an expansion card or only play 2 games ever. Most games at this point will auto download the series x/s version and won't let you play it without that.

  • Nice Budget Box
Verified BuyerReviewed by MochaBailey - January 3, 2022

The Xbox Series S really is a budget box. Perfect option if you travel and don’t want to take a large Series X with you. Or if you are a casual gamer and like cloud gaming. It actually would be a great system for pediatric doctors or facilities to have available in their waiting rooms. While I do like the Series S and don’t regret my purchase, I will add the Series X to my gaming collection in the future. But If you are comparing the Series S to the Series X, buy the Series X for sure. I will tell you why. The front of the Series S holds a USB port, a pairing button, and a power button. There's no optical drive slot, as this is a digital-only system. The back holds two more USB ports, an HDMI output, an Ethernet port, a slot for expanding the storage, and a connector for the power cable. The included Xbox Wireless Controller is identical to the one that comes with the Series X, with color being the only exception. Backwards compatible, you can play all Xbox One games except for the ones that require Kinect. The Series S' SSD means fast load times. It is amazing. I have tested the loading time against my Xbox One and it is crazy fast. Sadly the SSD is only 512GB compared with the Xbox Series X’s 1TB drive. You can expand storage as I have, which now turns the $299 budget box into $399 - $499 which becomes the price of an Xbox Series X, but lacks the graphical advantages. Bottom line, I don’t regret buying the Xbox Series S as I like how compact it is and I can easily take it with me wherever I go. The $299 price tag and easier availability of this system makes it tempting to buy. But with the smaller drive, the fact you will likely have to buy a hard drive to go with it (now or in the future), and the lack of the graphical advantages that the Series X has, I would pass on the Series S and get yourself the Series X.

  • More than enough for this generation
    Reviewed by Ale - December 6, 2021

The space is it a problem at all, I have 15 games downloaded on my Xbox among which are Fortnite, Apex, halo infinite, Subnautica, etc and I still have 60GB. Also you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on AAA games, you can just buy the Game pass ultimate which brings around 150 or more games that are not specially bad games plus the Xbox live gold. In conclusion, this console is a cheap and excellent offer.
