How to Purchase
Parts and Labour Coverage
We cover all the parts and labour necessary to return your product to factory specifications. If we cannot repair your product, we will provide a replacement.
We pay any covered claim from the first dollar. There are no deductibles, no hidden charges, and no out-of-pocket costs.
No Lemon Policy
If your product requires more than three repairs, and is diagnosed to require a fourth repair we will provide a replacement under your Service Plan. See terms and conditions for plan details.
We cover accessories and peripheral devices that come with your product in the original manufacturer’s package. Examples of accessories include external speakers, monitors, keyboards, mice, remote controls and docking stations. See terms and conditions for specific coverage and exclusions.
Power Surge Protection
You're covered for product damage due to power fluctuations, outages, line spikes, and surges.
Our coverage follows the product, which may enhance its market value. When you sell your product, simply sign the terms and conditions and give them to the new owner, along with the purchase receipt. No fees apply.

For many products, you’ll have some options for how you get service through your Service Plan. The type of coverage that comes with your plan will be visible as you purchase it.
Should your product need servicing, a specialized product technician will be sent directly to your home, eliminating the need for you to have to transport your product to a store. If In-Home Service is not available in your area, we will arrange for a courier to ship your product to and from the Service Centre. This is all arranged for you with no hidden fees or additional costs.
If you have any concerns with your product, simply bring it to a store for service or contact us at 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (1-800-433-5778) for service options.
After selecting your product and clicking‘Add to Cart’, if the product has a protection plan associated with it you’ll be presented with the option to add a plan to your cart with the product.
When making your purchase in-store, an associate will typically ask you if you’d like to add a protection plan to your order. You can also ask the associate at checkout to add a protection plan to your product if it qualifies.
Up to 30 days after purchase
If you didn’t buy a plan with your item and it is eligible for coverage, you can visit any store within 30 days of purchase and request that a Geek Squad Protection Service Plan be added to your product.
When does my Geek Squad Protection Service Plan start?
Your Geek Squad Protection Plan coverage will begin on the date of purchase.
Your Geek Squad Protection Plan coverage will begin five days after you receive the confirmation email informing you that your item has shipped.
When does my Geek Squad Protection Service Plan expire?
The date your Product Service Plan expires depends on the length of term purchased. If you purchased a four-year Plan, your Product Service Plan will expire exactly four years from the date it started.
Is the Geek Squad Protection Service Plan renewable?
All Geek Squad Protection plans are only available at the time of purchase (or up to 30 days after purchase) with terms of 2, 3, 4 or 5 years depending on the type of product purchased. Once the term has passed, the plan cannot be renewed.
Can I get a copy of my Geek Squad Protection Service Plan?
Visit one of our store locations and ask any associate in the store.
You can view and print the terms and conditions of your Geek Squad Protection Service Plan at any time online.
How do I get service with my Geek Squad Protection Service Plan?
If you purchased Carry-in Service, you may take your product directly to a store location for servicing.
If you purchased In-Home Service simply call 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (1-800-433-5778).
How do I find out if my product is eligible for a Geek Squad Protection Service plan?
If your product is eligible, the associate in-store will likely ask you if you’d like to add a plan to your order. If they don’t ask you, feel free to inquire whether your product qualifies.
For any product that is eligible for a Geek Squad Protection Service Plan, you’ll have the chance to add a plan as you add your item to cart.
Are replacement parts installed in a product covered by a Service Plan also eligible for coverage?
Our Geek Squad Protection Service Plans cover replacement parts if a valid claim is submitted and an authorized technician makes the repair. Any actions completed outside of the specified terms and conditions of the plan will not be covered, whether the item is serviced at home or in a store.
