[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my my new Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer. First, the appliance itself comes with condensation collector, spoon, pot, basket, rice measuring cup. After reading the manual, it said it is important to keep and use the the included rice measuring cup. It is an exact measurement for use with the appliance. There are several modes on the control panel. You can do white or whole grain rice. It steams, cooks, simmers and keeps warm. There are requirements, so important to read manual. The Pros: It is convenient when cooking for 2 or more people. It helps eliminate extra cooking pots. Another good feature when steaming food is, if the cooking water boils away, the cooker beeps and the time will flash on the digital read out on the front. You need to add more water, then it will start re-steaming if you re-start within 3 min. If not, appliance will turn off. Good safety feature. The feature delay start works great for food that is not a perishable. It depends on the recipe you are making. Everything in my opinion is recipe based when making a combination meal. What I mean is, when cooking a combination of food in pot and steamer, you can’t just throw things and push start. Maybe there is someone who can just toss and cook! You have to know what mode to use. There is a process. I found you also should research on line for more recipes. The manual/recipe book has some samples, however, you will want more. I made glazed steam salmon in basket with cooked potatoes with skins on in the pot from recipes included in the manual. It called for rice, however I knew it did rice and I wanted to experiment. I had to start cooking potatoes first, then opened, check water level and added the salmon to basket. It worked well. I then peeled and mashed the potatoes after. I did try rice and cod the next day, but we finished eating and I remembered we forgot pictures. CONS: 1. The book that comes with the Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer, does not explain how to use the condensation collector. It showed a drawing under cleaning. I have included pictures of where it goes. One side has some vent holes. You snap on that side. Unless you scrutinize the exterior box carefully, you will not know there is a picture of the placement. 2. It appears to me, there is a lot of experimenting to do for creating new combination meals if you are creating your own. If you are only cooking in the steam basket or only using the pot, it is very simple. 3. In my opinion, this Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer definitely needs complete recipes when cooking food in both steamer basket and pot at same time. The recipes in manual are food starting samples. It takes exact timing mode to make sure the food gets done at same time. It is easy to use if you follow directions and read recipes that work with Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer. Not all rice cookers/steamers are the same. This Hamilton Beach has many functions. I like the Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer. For me personally, I think it I will be using it mostly for steaming fish, vegetables, and rice on a regular basis. I am interested in trying the oatmeal recipe in manual, soup, hard boiled eggs, and cake I found on-line. As I mentioned earlier in my review, this Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer, helps to eliminate the use of multiple appliances or pots and makes clean up much easier.

I love this brand, always it can cook prefect rice, and also big enough for me to steam my left over food at the same time. I used Betty Crocker before. It always burned the rice if did not turn off the rice cooker immediately, it also rusty after one year. The rice also smell like chemical smell. I love Hamilton Beach, feel safe to use . This cooker will keep warm after cook, it will keep the rice warm for 1 hour, and automatically turn off the rice cooker. I want to emphasis is , the rice is so good, never dried/burned if you keep warm for one hour! The only thing I don't really like is the design (the lid can't be removed).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a rice cooker before but have always wanted one. They had seemed a bit intimidating so I was hesitant to give them a try. After my very first use with the Hamilton Beach Digital Simplicity Rice cooker steamer, I was hooked. It made the perfect rice. I also steamed some Edamame while making my first batch of rice and it too came out perfect. While looking through the instruction booklet I learned that my rice cooker was so much more than just a rice cooker, I can use it to to make Beans, warm soups and so many other things. This is very versatile and really is a multitool for the kitchen. I am very impressed and have used it multiple times since getting it and love my new rice cooker.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time we have had a rice cooker, but so far have found it to be a useful product. Rice takes longer to cook than on the traditional stovetop method, but it comes out perfectly—no clumpy rice or messy stove top spillover. My biggest complaint is how sparse on info the instruction manual is. Having some additional guidance on which setting and water to rice ratio to select for various rices would be extremely useful. I’d also like some more recipes to try out to experiment with the steaming function. so far I had moderate success with a few attempts with white rice but not so much with Jasmine rice. I’m hoping for even more success as I seek out new meal ideas and learn how to best create with our new toy!

it only lasted 6 months and it wouldn’t turn on .... you should have a warranty purchased for this if you still insist to get this product ..

i got it last year during boxing day. it lasted for just one year and now i have to buy a new one. At first it worked well and as time, it started taking longer to cook the rice and yesterday after 30 minutes of the rice in the cooker, the rice didnt cook at all.

We've been using this rice cooker for almost 3 years' don't have any issue.I will definitely recommend it.

This electric rice cooker does its job well. Rice boils and cooks well in white rice mode. It takes 45 minutes to cook the rice whatever the quantity you place in white rice mode. In quick rice mode , soaking cycle is eliminated , so it cooks some what soon. Not sure about the time as I have not used that. Steam cook mode is helpful to boil the veggies by placing in the plastic tray provided over the cooking vessel. We can schedule the delay start upto 15 hrs. I find this function pretty useful as I can delay my cooking based on the time I reach back home. After cooking, it goes to keep warm mode automatically and shows the timer in minutes lapsed after cooking is completed. Overall I have a good quality of non sticky rice after buying this cooker. Maintenance is very easy. Has 5 year warranty. I was having a hard time cooking in conventional cooker/pan. This cooker is a must have in every home.
