Hearing is believing with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro

What makes the Galaxy Buds2 Pro different?

For starters, how they look and feel. Samsung redesigned its flagship wireless earbuds to sport a new style that slims them down in all the right places to better fit a wider variance of ears. If you felt the previous Galaxy Buds Pro weren’t snug enough for you, these may be music to your ears in more ways than one.

The new look on the outside also comes with changes on the inside, courtesy of improved woofers and tweeters to pump out consistently clearer sound. The 10mm woofer handles the deeper bass, while the 5.3mm tweeters handle the crisp highs, combining for a balanced sound that caters to all musical tastes.

With better mics also comes improved active noise cancellation (ANC), helping block out up to 40% more of the background than the previous pair could manage. These are also the first Samsung earbuds to support 24-bit hi-res audio, taking sound quality to new heights for the brand.

You can always manage and customize your Galaxy Buds2 Pro using the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app on Android and iOS. There, you will find access to equalizer presets, adjust the touch controls, and even find your earbuds if you’ve misplaced them.

New intelligence with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro

Samsung’s already good ANC gets better because of more accurate and substantial cancellation. It helps the Galaxy Buds2 Pro cancel out tougher background sounds to escape the distractions of the outside world. Improved mics on both earbuds help make this happen, listening for noise around you, and then countering it with a muffling sound to reduce it considerably.

The intelligence extends to the return of a feature called Voice Detect, where the earbuds will automatically turn on Ambient Sound mode once you start talking to better hear your voice and someone else’s. It’s called Intelligent Conversation Mode, and knows to return to audio playback when you stop talking.

Samsung is also pushing more elaborate spatial audio with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro. Enhanced 360 audio emulates a surround sound effect right in your ears, with head tracking that follows your movements. Tilt your head and the sound will feel like it’s changed in direction, much like surround sound does.

It’s very easy to pair the Galaxy Buds2 Pro with your device, and it will also recognize other compatible Galaxy devices. That enables Auto Switch, letting you listen to audio on one device, like your phone, and then switch over to a tablet or your Samsung TV just like that.

Who are the Galaxy Buds2 Pro best for?

You can work out or run with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and worry little about whether they can keep up. Not only should they stay securely in place, but their IPX8 protection can handle water and sweat to keep on playing. You will need to keep cleaning them to keep them in tip top shape, much like you try to do for yourself when you want to get active.

Support for hi-res audio depends on the Galaxy phone you have, as it must be able to play 24-bit audio, be it from audio files stored on the device or from streaming services offering that kind of quality. The same is true of 360 audio, which is exclusive to Galaxy devices.

Samsung is offering the Galaxy Buds2 Pro in three colours, with purple bora being the newest option. They are also available in the classic graphite and white variants.
