What customers are saying

The audio system provides a noticeable improvement in bass performance with great sound quality and impressive output for its compact size. It offers a clean, punchy low-end that enhances the overall listening experience without taking up much space. While it may not deliver earth-shaking bass, it is a significant upgrade over the factory system and a recommended choice for those seeking an affordable way to upgrade their vehicle's audio.

    Nice little thumper.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - July 7, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve yet to hear a Kicker Hideaway, but multiple installers have told me my Alpine sounds much better and every shop dislikes the Kicker model. Four seperate car audio shops and three carry Kicker. I think all the mini amplified subs are prone to failure, so I recommend adding the warranty. The Alpine gives a clean clear thump for added bass to give a full sound experience. It’ll rattle your mirrors, but you’re not going to hear it outside the vehicle. You need a bigger enclosure with a deeper depth sub for that. The Alpine is tiny and easy to find a place to install. It provides impressive bass for it’s size.

Alpine a leader in car audio quality, excellent!

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - September 2, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Boom boom bass is all you hear if you purchase this PWE-S8 system that comes with both woofer and amplifier in one single stylish and conveniently sized box that comes from Alpine. I know this because I have it inside my car, in the back middle seat facing the front of the car. My original wiring was for a 12" Hertz subwoofer that was located in my trunk of my car. So maybe that has something to do with its tremendous punch which, for an 8" to SOUND similar to a bigger unit is all you need to know and to appreciate its authenticity, durability, and most importantly versatility. This system uses its own bass nob module that you can place anywhere virtually, and let's you choose your own bass gain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect bass option for my truck! The sound is clear, crisp, and hits great for an 8” subwoofer. I’m very pleased with this addition!

exactly what i was looking for

    Reviewed by - May 9, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed in a big rig with a double bunk sleeper. I am a truck driver i work and live in my truck, i was looking for clean bass to match my mids/highs which run off the head unit ( no amp) this was perfect. this sub braught life back into my music. If you are looking to compete in a bass competition do NOT show up with this sub, but if you are looking for a clean thump you can feel inside your vehicle without sacrificing your cargo area or your next meal this is the way to go. verry well built, strong aluminum case if i step on it, bump it, drop something on it, it might get a scratch on it but i am not worried about it being damaged.

    Alpine quality massive storage space.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - July 18, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is for those that don't wish to sacrifice sound quality and power for space. You get the quality of Alpine with the size a bit larger than the factory 6.5" Subaru Outback underseat powered subwoofer. This is a 120W RMS setup, and it's good on my HU all the way up to 40, LPF set to 60Hz for tuning, and all EQ disabled or set to 0, and it jars my car, and I still have the space to haul things for work or recreation. Mounted in the back hatch area, instead of under the seat, due to wanting a fuller sound. My car's cabin space basically acts as a bandpass enclosure for this thing to really hit hard and shake my glasses on my face.

Not what i expected, no ones fault but mine

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 30, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As far as the unit itself, i wasn’t impressed. I thought i would be able to hear and feel SOME bass, as many of the reviews stated this was a pretty loud speaker. It wasnt for me unfortunately. I took it back within a few weeks. It was, however, compact and did indeed take up little to no soace, but it didnt produce as i was hoping. Geek squad was great to work with through out all of this.

    Small but big Sound

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 8, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed it in a Tacoma extra cab under passenger seat. Fits well and is out of sight. First off you have to realize the difference from this low profile eight inch sub from standard sub woffers. For its size it packs a punch and am very pleased with it. The price is steep but for the compact size and simplicity of installation of and all in one (subwoofer, amplifier and box) it's not so much if you were to buy all three components separately. Now, dont expect to bump Bass Mechanic and compare it to 3 W7's running at 2500 watts rms. This sub plays perfect giving you bass to regular song as Muse. The only thing i don't like much is the bass knob. It doesnits job but you have to turn it almost all the way down before it actuates and reduces the bass. From 100% it functions best between 0 and 30%. One other factor to consider is the vehicle size and location. Overall this is a great little sub. I would definitely recommend it.

Solid Midbass, "Subwoofer" might be a stretch

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - December 11, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Impressive output for the size and helped clean up the otherwise stock system by taking the low frequencies off the door speakers. don't expect to rattle anything with this, but that's kind of the point, it made for much cleaner midbass vs running the door speakers full-range. Installed in the passenger footwell of a Miata and you can't even tell its there once the floor mat is in place! It sounds decent but doesn't play much below 45hz. I'm probably going to add a sub in the trunk or a tactile transducer (bass shaker) to augment, but it's a great start and keeps the image up front.
