Been using APC backups since 2000, bought the 1300 in 07, this is its 1st battery replacement. 6/21 bought new BX1500M for the PC so could use 1300 to protect entertainment systems and cable box. Wouldn't you know, lost power a week later and the 1300 alerted a dead batt. Figured they no longer provided batts for it, "wrong". It took nearly 2 weeks from purchase to arrival. It easily slipped in, plugged everything in and started it up. The charge status read 0, I figured it would take a couple days for it to charge to 100%, I checked the batt charge status a couple 3 times over the next half hour, still 0. 3rd time I checked it it read 100%, thought it odd but was happy,

This review is more about the service than the product. When you call in and someone stays on the line to help you make a positive determination that a new battery is needed, well that is good customer service. Do they want to sell a product, well yes, but when someone is taking the time to walk you through the steps to make sure that is what you need, that really helps. The customer service representative did not try to upsell me, but informed me of options, but also came to the conclusion that all I needed at this time was a replacement battery. I will definitely work with APC again.

Battery arrived within four days of internet order, which was a lot faster than I expected. (great job). Battery was exact replacement that I needed. It was easy to install, and came with instructions that were easy to understand. When package arrived, it was obvious it was dropped in shipping. The styrofoam that the battery was packaged in was damaged, and the battery corner was slightly damaged. The battery was not cracked, or leaking and worked flawlessly once installed in the unit. I would highly recommend this battery as a replacement.

The only issue that I find frustrating with buying a replacement battery is that I never know if the issue is truly the battery failing or that the hardware of the APC is failing. So you buy the battery and it doesn't actually make a difference because the unit is no longer working. This has happened to me several times and my environmental sensibilities and my company's money are what i am taking a chance buying a battery vs an whole new unit. I wish there was a way to tell what the problem is before inventing in either option.

The APC battery came and replacing it was a breeze. It immediately started working. Usually when I pay for something on line and provide my email address I get an email with some sort of receipt. For this I did not. There's an option at checkout to print the order summary and I did that. What arrived was a box with the battery in it and directions on how to replace the battery. There was nothing in the box about how to recycle or ship back the old battery. That is something I had to go digging for at their website as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my APC XS1000 for several years and during a recent power outage realized the batteries are no longer holding enough charge to keep my system running long enough to shut it down. This replacement battery is a simple plug and play solution. After install I let it charge for a couple of days, then pulled the plug from the wall. My desktop computer with 2 monitors ran for almost 30 minutes before I lost power. Completely happy I was able to replace the battery instead of having to buy a completely new battery backup.

APC Schneider free battery recycling is still alive! It's a little harder to find now. There's no return label provided in the box with your replacement batter. But GOOGLE "APC schneider battery recycling" and the right webpage will be near the top. I feel this is important because another reviewer expressed regret that he couldn't return his old battery for recycling. He could have, he just didn't find the right path in Schneider-space.

Simple to remove the old battery and install the new one by just shoving it in, no complicated connections, and that fixed the problem immediately. The original battery lasted many years so there was nothing defective about it, but eventually it would not take a charge, just like car batteries (of the same type) eventually give out. Fortunately that was all that was wrong with the unit and now it is back to original performance.

Longtime user of APC products when I worked in IT, retired now and I'm protecting my home with their UPS. This one's battery lasted eight challenging years and finally gave up. Not to worry - replacement came in record time and installation was tool-less and very easy. I recycled the old battery locally for free. Total downtime was less than three minutes. Good engineering can make it this easy for the customer - well done!

The battery came very carefully packed, but it did not fit the Back-UPS XS1000 that I have. So I had to cut the two batteries apart and re-use the middle plate from my old batteries. I was really hoping that by buying from APC I would just remove the old, put the new one in and be done, but this was not the case. Total time was only 15 minutes, but still annoying to have to do it. This is why I only knocked off 1 star.
