Brother DRUM has 1/4 the life expected.
- December 1, 2020I use my laser printer for many small projects, but never abused. My drum states 86% life, and suddenly, after a print job I had horizontal lines across all my pages. I have gone through the process of cleaning the drum, the corona wire, and even attempted to find the "glass" that was suggested to be cleaned on the "roof" (could not find that on my unit). Didn't make any difference, and the drum itself has green pulling off the edges! Not sure I want to keep buying brother laser printers if I can't even get a full life cycle out of a DRUM!

Worked until 74% remaining
- November 20, 2020Never had a problem with Brother toners or drums, until now. The end of February I purchased a new Brother drum and toner (in store purchase). They worked fine, until recently. The "clean corona wire" notification kept popping up. I'd do it, it would be fine for 1 or 2 pages, then I'd have to do it again. Also, there were piles of toner in the drum. This never happened before. I checked the remaining life for the drum (74%) and the toner (it was low). Did I get a dud/2 duds, or is Brother's quality lower than it used to be?

Great
- October 19, 2022I have used mine for 6 years and used it. It’s black and white. It says replace photoconductor? I think that’s the drum? It shows the thing that holds in cartridge? I am not sure if I should get a new one or not. You can use Arthur ink if you want a generic brand. Mine got messed up cuz a paper jam. I don’t know if I should replace it or look at new ones. I just want black and white.

Very pleased.
- December 13, 2022The previous drum unit became noisy sometime before the Replacement Warning appeared, but it never stopped making good copies. The machine quieted down with the new drum. This is a several-year-old refurbished machine that hasn't missed a beat. Shipment was super fast.

Less Print than I Expected
- December 18, 2020I've had the same issue as others who have posted. The toner cartridge does not seem to last as long as expected. I'm not sure why this would be happening. When I first purchased this printer, the cartridge I used lasted a long time. = (

love my HL-L2340D
- February 13, 2021We've used this printer for 2-3 years now, and love it. No problems, does what we want, and we're still impressed by speed. We're just now getting to the point of needing a new drum unit, and we'll see how that goes.

Easy Install.
- January 1, 2023This isn't my 1st drum replacement. Install went smoothly as expected. I installed the drum because of a recurring notice my that indicated replacing the drum would fix the problem. It did.

Last a while!
- August 27, 2025The drum did last to around 11,000 pages before it started saying I needed a new one. I have had this printer for about 3 years now. So I think that was a pretty good run!

Comes with ink
- October 21, 2020Rated fair because drum has ink but the approx 12,000 pages should be more like 300 pages. Unless you are printing one word per page then 12,000 would make sense.

New Drum=New Printer
- July 19, 2023Just replaced the drum and works like brand new again. Don’t second guess, just buy the drum or buy a new printer same thing unless you want a different feature.
