Not even a CD burner in my new GAMING PC

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 20, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought a high -dollar Brand Name Gaming desktop and it must have been put together by a true "Gamer who doesnt want to waste a penny on anything that doesn't have to do with games! It had a ced/dvd/blu ray reading drive with no burning capability and the flimsy drive they put in probably wouldn't last through installing the software into the machine. This is the answer to everything "storage" including using 100GB BD-XL discs to back up my NAS Drive. Add the fact that I can plug this into my Optical driveLESS Surface Pro and Surface 3 Pro and it drasticaslly increases the capability of any machine you plug it into!

    Great External Optical drive!

    Reviewed by - January 8, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this external optical drive because my gaming pc didn't come with an optical drive or have the room to add anything other than a DVD-R/RW slim drive. So far the drive is working great, it reads discs extremely fast. I've burned several blu-ray discs with it and haven't experienced any issues thus far. Also want to confirm that even though the system requirements only list up to Windows 8, it is fully compatible with Windows 10. I plugged the drive into my USB 3.0 port and it was instantly recognized and installed by Windows 10. Grab one while you can, the options are becoming less and less for Blu-ray optical drives as we further advance into the digital era.

    Great for backups

    Reviewed by - January 25, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to use on my laptop, since there's no place to install an internal drive. My PC has an internal drive that also does M-DISC, and I was wishing I had ordered something for the laptop to do those, too. The specs say this drive doesn't support M-DISC, but I tried burning a 25GB Verbatim M-DISC. To my surprise, it worked! It burned it at 4x speed, same as my internal drive. From what I've read, the "DVD" type M-Discs require a drive that supports M-DISCs, and I haven't tried one of those on this yet, so no idea if it will burn one of those. This drive works on Linux (OpenSUSE LEAP 15.0) using K3B.

Plays DVD and BluRay discs as advertised

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 14, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like others have said, it is a little large, and I wouldn't want to take it on a trip. But with my new PC lacking a drive, it fills the need to be able to view film credits for my job. Be warned though, it attempts to load more software than just what is needed to run the player or burn discs (I have 14 icons in the CyberLink Media Suite folder). So, you might want to be careful during installation. I'm still trying to figure out which software started trying to download my pictures from OneDrive.

Simple To Set Up And Use

    Reviewed by - April 4, 2014

(Pros)The station is simple to set-up and use and produces a beautiful picture. (Cons) It makes noise while loading and after leaving the pause mode to play, the sound and picture never come back in sync. Always have to press pause, wait about 10 seconds and then press play to synchronize the two. This can be a pain but other than that, nice machine.

    Just what I wanted

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 2, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] USB 3.0, CD/DVD/Blu ray, all in one. Only burned one disc so far but very fast. If the USB cable is not long enough and you go to buy another cable make sure to get a USB 3.0 cable, they are physically different. Unless you don't have USB 3.0 on your computer? Still worth it for future upgrades.

    Fast and Sturdy

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - October 29, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit does exactly what it is advertised to do. My only "complaint" is the size. This unit looks like an early era CD drive. It is bulky. If you are looking for somethig sleek and unobtrusive, keep looking. That is the ony reason I did not give it 5 stars. Operationally, it is outstanding.

Big and Bulky but Excellent Blu-Ray drive

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 16, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Big, bulky and not very portable. I purchased this drive for quality, not portability. Needed to read Cds that contain old graphics software I use. It's fast, quiet and despite its size fits in my laptop briefcase. Reads Blu-Ray, DVD and Cds with no problems. Great drive!

Very Quiet - Burns Just about anything

    Reviewed by - April 17, 2017

Bought this burner with a new HP PC - I do quite a bit of video editing, and usually burn videos to Blue-Ray. Have not had a moment of trouble with this unit, which contains a Pioneer burner. Everything seems to work perfectly.

    Exceptional CD Burner

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 20, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very pleased with this CD burner. I purchased 2 of them and one had an issue with ripping CD's but returned it and ordered another and it worked perfect. Highly recommend. One of the best I have used over the past 20 years.
