What customers are saying

The ink cartridges provide good quality and performance, producing clear, sharp prints that last a reasonable amount of time. The ink is easy to install and works reliably with the printers. However, some users feel the ink is a bit expensive compared to third-party options and may run out faster than desired. A few reviewers prefer larger capacity or multi-packs for better value.

great ink for my canon printer

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 23, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't quite sure if i would find the correct ink, but I did and it works great. I'm so glad that my hand-me-down printer is still supported by hp.

    Pretty good stuff

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - October 23, 2014

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a student and the majority of my prints are slides. I use a Canon MP470 combo scanner/ printer on 20lb (92 Brightness) paper. I am fairly impressed with the amount of prints that I can get out of a single cartridge. I think I might be replacing the colored ink more often than the Black ink. I usually print everything in "fast" print quality and for a black and white only page the contrast of words against the page is very good and easy to read. I am pretty happy with my printer and ink choice.

    Better than HP?

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 23, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I currently own two printers, an HP and a Canon. I've also previously owned Epson and Brother. I wouldn't recommend Brother at all, and Epson used to be good but not so much in recent years. So in my opinion, the only printer brands worth considering today are HP and Canon. Both are good, but I think where Canon has a slight lead over HP is with inkjet cartridges. My HP printer seems to run out of ink much faster than my Canon printer. Perhaps one reason for this is that the HP printer wastes more ink with print head cleaning and alignment. I've also found that Canon cartridges don't dry up as quickly as HP cartridges, which can really dry up quickly if you don't print every day. Based on my experience, I would say if you print a lot every day, get an HP. But if you print less often, Canon is a better value overall.

    I 'think' it works good.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 5, 2014

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this ink cartridge in my printer for about 10 years now. I've had my printer for around 10 years and I don't know if it might be my printer or the ink, but it doesn't seem to last very long. My family and I don't seem to print much and I feel like we have to buy ink sooner than we should. $60 for ink is a lot of money to have to buy so frequently (Color + Blank ink). My colors are often dim too but that might be my printer. Easy installation though!!

    Mixed feelings-overall just ok ink

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - January 2, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I could praise this product but frankly it seems to run out too often, however I do manage to get every last drop off of it. So even though my Cannon printer shows warnings that the ink is low I still manage to really use it well beyond those printer warnings. But still I would have expected not to get warnings about the ink running low so early on after putting the cartridge in the printer in the first place. So I really have mixed feelings about this ink.

    Satisfied Customer

    Reviewed by - September 19, 2007

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Canon 40 Ink Cartridge [black] from a Best Buy store and found myself more than pleased with the general price and later quality when I brought it home. Pricing was competitive--reasonably cheaper than other stores. The result of my printed documents was clear and precise----very pleasing. The sales clerks within the store were helpful. I would most definately recommend that others purchase this product at Best Buy stores in the future. Larew

    Disappointing product

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - March 21, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used to think of Canon as one of the top products for printers, cameras etc, but the Canon printer I have and this Ink cartridge product that I have to use for my printer is disappointing. I find that it runs out way too fast even when I don't print a lot or print as draft quality. I had another printer in the past and it never used so much ink, unlike this Canon Ink Cartridge that feels like it runs out way too fast than it should.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - September 8, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ok, so i tried to be cheap and ordered re-filled printer ink from company x on the internet, each ink tank was only $9. what is the old saying? you get what you pay for? my printer wouldn't even recognize the cartridges i kept getting error codes, and the ink leaked out all over. what a mess. unreturnable unusable. then i purchased these original ones. what a huge difference in quality. word of advise. don't skimp on ink

it's ink - makes black spots on paper...

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - April 8, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] does what it's supposed to. my printer was out of ink, i needed ink. this is ink, it fit my printer and works like it should. i don't print a lot but when i do i need ink. black ink, it looks black on paper. i use a pixma i2600. there are probably cheaper options - printer mfg's make their money on ink - but none were at hand. i didn't mind paying the premium for it since i needed it immediately.

    No blotches

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - June 14, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My only problem with ALL printer inks is that I get a notice that the ink is running low but that doesn't really let me know how much more life I can get from the cartridge...that's probably a computer issue and not a cartridge issue. Canon's inks work well with my printer and I've never had misprints with them. I'd really like to know how many hours of continuous printing the cartridges are good for.
