At the centre of the design is a custom 1"" aluminum dome tweeter, precisely tuned for the Debut 3.0 series to deliver clear, detailed high frequencies with smooth extension. Its lightweight and rigid construction helps reproduce subtle soundtrack details and dialogue with accuracy while contributing to an open, natural presentation.
Two 5.25"" aramid-fiber woofers provide the strength, low mass and natural damping needed for clean midrange reproduction and controlled low-frequency performance. This dual-woofer configuration helps the DC53 reproduce voices with weight and clarity while providing the dynamic impact needed for movie soundtracks and other multi-channel content.
Unlike a ported speaker, the DC53 uses a sealed 2-way enclosure. The sealed design allows greater flexibility when positioning the speaker near a wall or within compatible entertainment cabinetry. Strategically placed internal bracing reinforces the cabinet to reduce unwanted vibration and resonance, helping ensure that the sound you hear is produced primarily by the drivers rather than the enclosure.
With a frequency response of 57 Hz to 38 kHz (-6 dB), 6-ohm nominal impedance and 87.5 dB sensitivity, the DC53 is designed to integrate with a wide range of AV receivers and amplifiers. A 1,900 Hz crossover manages the transition between the woofers and tweeter, while five-way metal binding posts provide a secure and versatile speaker connection.
The Debut 3.0 series also brings a refined visual design to ELAC's home theatre lineup. A Walnut vinyl cabinet with satin black front provides a clean, contemporary appearance, while the magnetically attached grille can be easily removed when you prefer to display the drivers.
