Improves the taste of our water.
- April 5, 2014[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A water filter is essential in our community, without it the water has a strong chlorine taste. This one installs easily and we really notice a difference in the taste of the water when it runs out. Also I believe it extends the life of the ice maker, as we have extremely hard water, and I have had to replace ice makers on other refrigerators in the past when I have not had a water filter. My LG refrigerator is over 2 years old and I have had no problems with quantity or quality of ice. The only downside is the expense - we drink a lot of water so it seems I'm replacing it frequently, but I feel it is worth the price.

Best filter
- July 28, 2014I have used a LG original LG Filter (LT500P/5231JA2002A) produced by Cuno Water Group on LG LSC26905TT Refrigerator since June 16, 2012. And in July 2014, my refrigerator did not make ice, but water tasted ok. I realized that I have not changed filter for two years that make filter clogged and pressure was low that leading to no ice produced. Once I replaced filter, it recovered to produce ice. That means my filter does worked well for full two years. What a high performance! I replaced old filter with other maker produced filter but it contained many residues and white particles. I will buy original LG made filter.

The One And Only Filter To Get For Your LG Fridge!
- April 21, 2016[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Forget buying those off-brand, cheaper water filters for your fridge. Sure they are way cheaper, look the same, and perhaps even state they are much better...Bottom line...They're not! Exactly what it is that makes the off-brand filters problematic, and these LG filters not, I honestly don't know. What I do know is I've been replacing my water filter for the past 5-years, using just the LG LT-700P, and have had zero issues...Zero! That unfortunately can't be said for the reviews for some of the off brands complaining about filters leaking, producing a fowl taste or smell. For me, these LG filters are worth the $50.00. I'm extremely happy with these, and will continue purchasing them as needed.

Good for a Refrigerator Filter
- August 20, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a bit of a water snob. My family owns a Purified Water and Ice store. As such, anything less than 100% pure H2O is simply not okay. I literally taste the difference (water should have no taste). However, this is not bad if you are simply going to be using the water to make your flavored drink of choice. You do need to flush the filter (about 3-5 minutes or 2-3 gallons) so that you don't have a strong carbon taste. Overall, not a bad product (especially since it's better than nothing for making ice and dispensing water from your fridge), but I'll take my reverse osmosis water instead.

Very effective water filter
- August 29, 2018[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This water filter is great and last for 6 months. The only drawback is the price. It’s about $50.

Filters this county water like a boss!
- July 4, 2015[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This filter is the bees knees. Aluminum? Gone! Fluoride? Gone! Chloramine (or chlorine depending on the time of year)? Gone! The water coming out my fridge is so delicious now that even my wife drinks it. She's a bit of a water snob and only drinks bottled water. With this filter, she can't tell the difference! That's a win-win right there. A win for the recycling guys that no longer have to empty that giant recycle bin on wheels filled with empty water bottles every week, and a win for my wallet since I don't have to buy bottled water by the pallet any more!

Expensive & Short Life
- May 13, 2020[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the LG refrigerator which requires this filter. In my opinion it is overpriced considering the very short life before needing to be replaced. It seemed that I had no more replaced the old filter with this and within 3 weeks the "replace filter" alert was blinking. It does a good job of filtering the water and leaves no odd taste to the water. The only reason I'd recommend this to a friend is because it's the only filter for the refrigerator and you're stuck if you want filtered water. Not simple to install without trial and error effort.

Puzzled
- June 3, 2013[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the not too distant past filters were absent on refrigerators but with the newer models they've become prevalent as a way, it seems, of manufacturers insuring that you continue to spend with them. Whether you use it frequently or not the warning replacement light indicates it's time to replace it after a certain amount of time has expired. I suppose you have to have this but it seems that a cardboard cartridge inside the filter cartridge would be a cheaper alternative, in lieu of the expensive metal cartridge..

Great features
- January 24, 2019[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that I can lock the ice and water so the grandkids can't use it. There is also ice that goes down into the freezer for dumping in coolers etc. Very handy for summer parties! The ice maker in the door frees up the shelving in the fridge. Also a big plus for us. The freezer is very spacious. There is ample room for all the groceries. We have very hard water and the filter still lasts for about the whole 6 months. The fingerprint resistant doors are great. Just have to wipe with a dry cloth. And the alarm that goes off if the door is open to long lets me know if the grandkids were in there. The only thing I wish was different is that I wish it had more shelves in the door that would accommodate bulky items such as milk and juice jugs. Otherwise we are very happy with our purchase.

LG Water Filter
- July 15, 2018[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had previously ordered another off brand water filter to replace my LG water filter for my refrigerator, however when I replaced the filter I didn't notice the black washers around the filter were bent. I began to see it leaking, but a little to late. It had leaked about 2" of water in the back of my refrigerator going down to the bottom behind the Glide and Serve drawer. The water was frozen and very hard to remove. I will stick to buying this LG Original Water Filter as it works every time.
