Who has ever had a chest freezer? Anyone??? I have! And it is for the birds! I would waste so much food because it was at the very bottom. I would get frost bite digging to find what I needed. So when we moved into our new home I knew I needed a standing up right freezer. Searched everywhere and finally found this GE. Unfortunately the price of food is ridiculous. But I from week to week it can vary if chicken or hamburger meat is more expensive. It’s so amazing to have this freezer so if one of the other is a decent price I can stock up for my household. The glass shelves are amazing you don’t have to worry about spills being hard to clean. There’s so much room and it makes zero noise. I couldn’t be more happy and thankful for this freezer!

This has the same footprint as all the other freezers that I’ve had the past 30 yrs, except it’s about 3-4” taller (same width/depth). But, it doesn’t hold nearly as much as my other freezers! The shelves are very shallow, the pull out drawer is too high for me to see into (because it’s above my head - I’m 5’2”), it only has 4 shelves on door (all older models had 6) and those shelves are not deep enough to hold all our quart mason jars! We can only store 12 mason jars in the door shelves as opposed to 36 in older models. The 2 bottom drawers are disappointing as they are odd shaped and don’t hold much since they’re not square nor as deep as in the older models. The spacing between the shelves is too high and wastes a lot of space. So it doesn’t meet all our needs like all the older models - which almost defeats the purpose of having an upright freezer. The door is VERY HARD to open for everyone because the suction is so strong.

We love it! It’s a great size and easy to use. It locks which is great when you have little kids. love all the different shelves. And the drawers on the door are great for smaller items.

I think I’m going to like this product some of my friends have been thinking about buying one

Just had our GE garage ready, 21.3’ cu. freezer delivered. We were both surprised at how deep and tall it was. There is so much space and I love the glass shelves and the plastic drawers. There is a drawer under the top shelf for things like hotdogs or bacon or things like that. We originally We originally bought the freezer to store game meat from our ranch. But until then we will use it for overflow from our kitchen refrigerator/freezer. I bought a 20lb bag of ice and I still have plenty of room. I like that the thermostat setting is on the front of the door.

Absolutely love our new garage kept freezer. This freezer is perfect for our needs. Was so tired of our outdated manual defrost deep freezer. Finally a separate freezer, self defrost, with great lighting, and plenty of room. Love the deep shelves for our boxed goods and meats, but especially love the deep lower drawers to keep our frozen fresh Walleye in. I always freeze the Walleye & other fresh fish my husband catches, in large Ziploc Bags filled w water. Freezing the fish in water keeps the fish super fresh but hard to store, until now. This is where the drawers come in handy.. Even the door has plenty of additional space for other items like perogies, meatballs, ice cream Eclairs, etc. Can't wait for Christmas this year. Baking & storage is going to be so much easier now that we have plenty of space. Added bonus is the ability to lock the freezer door. With the grandkids coming over and sneaking in for a Popsicle, have caught them leaving the door open in the past. Not only can we lock it and know when they're sneaking in, but if we forget to lock the door prior to their visit, the door has a 2 minute alarm that will notify us if one of them leaves it open. Never thought I'd be this happy to have a new freezer, but with this design, I definitely am.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few months back and finally unboxed it yesterday. I was happy with it until I removed all of the internal packaging. The bottom shelf, that holds the drawers, is flimsy, the glass is too big, and looks like a safety hazard. Any additional weight on those drawers and the shelf could break. In addition, any significant weight on the glass and it will break due to lack of support. I’ll be sending a claim to see about getting this resolved. If I lift up from the bottom, it looks flush, but if you look closely the glass doesn’t seat flush in the shelf towards the back. As of now, 1 star.
