This fridge came brand new with our home purchase. We’ve been using it for two months and are very disappointed. The water spout leaks, and we now have calcified residue on the fridge tray. The main doors are flimsy and not level despite attempts to correct. The shelves do not hold weight well and are bowing. This is unacceptable for a new fridge. We are currently looking for a replacement. Also, we did not have the option to select this fridge, it was already installed by the builder when we found and purchased the home. Yes, we have owned a higher quality GE fridge before, so we’ve had better GE products. This fridge however, is poorly designed.

Is more smaller than my my refrigerator that I got rid of it doesn’t have enough room for gallon of milk or gallons of juice not enough room on the other side by the ice door for any items to go in. The shelves are too small.

I got this refrigerator about a month ago and so far it’s doing it’s job. Nice features especially the retractable shelf so that you can fit tall containers and bottles of wine. The only issue I noticed so far is the freezer door it’s not closing all the way I have to give it an extra push to close it or else it won’t. I went back to the store where I bought it to see if this is normal and found the exact model and the freezer door closed easily without the extra push on its door. So maybe I need to call GE to fix this issue. Other than that we are happy with this purchase. I hope it will last as long as (20 yrs.) GE refrigerator that it replaced.

First, the Black Slate color is hands down fabulous. I have had this appliance for a couple of months now I have not yet had to “clean” the exterior for hand/finger prints. Just a quick wipe if you get a little grime in it. It seems very durable. Water and Ice descenders: total pain, I really don’t like them. You MUST have a wide mouthed glass or ice and water will go everywhere! The water is not cold, and the ice machine (held in the fridge door, not in the freezer) is quite small. If you try to use the crushed ice, it will get all over your floor no matter how hard you try. Interior layout: despite how large this fridge is, the internal layout is simply dumb. Sure you can technically “adjust” the shelves- but aside from completely removing shelves and thus losing even more functional space, there is only one way the shelving will all fit.

We absolutely love our new GE Energy Saver! It fits so perfectly in our Mobile home and the color match is perfect! It is very spacious and so easy to stock and sort food. It don’t lose things in the freezer or have to pull everything out to find something. This is the absolute BEST REFRIGERATOR we have ever purchased!

Both of the refrigerators that I received was defective . The first one didn’t have any insulation in the door and there was condensation everywhere so I got a new refrigerator.. the second one the icemaker door was not flush, and I had to have it repaired. These are brand new refrigerators that are defective.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new GE refrigerator, Model: GFE26JEMTFDS in Black Slate was delivered yesterday and it is so beautiful and everything is working great. It is so big and roomy. It replaced a 2003 Kenmore refrigerator that was starting to die and I needed a new one. I love this color and never had an appliance look so great. In the pictures, it looks gray, but it is black, not a glossy black but a matte black. Fingerprints disappear. Cooling is excellent in the fridge and freezer. Water tastes great, ice is working already and stored out of the way. I took out one half shelf because I needed to put larger things under it. After I get used to it, I will figure out how to utilize the space better and put it back in. There are so many possibilities. Meat, vegetable and fruit drawers are huge but you can clearly see everything. I like the french doors versus side by side doors because I can store a pizza or longer items on the continuous shelf. I was concerned about the bottom freezer since I have spine issues, but it is great and easy to access. Now I have to fill it up with lots of food!!

I love this reg. A lot of room . And that it’s fingerprint resistant. The best product
