Excellent toner but my HP Laser Jet Pro M118dw printer must be the problem because even though the ink comes out nice and black, my printer bleeds about 3/4" all down the side of each page. Can't seem to make that stop.

I bought this to have a replacement ready when I was buying a new printer that comes with a starter toner cartridge. What I didn't like about this purchase was the patched up packaging. It means to me that someone opened it or, the package was damaged and they didn't bother to get a new box. Until I actually use this, I will not know. Although it is not really expensive, it is never good when one sees something like this when receiving a supposedly brand new product. Busy with many things and thinking about a cumbersome return in this COVID 19 crisis, I didn't return this. Maybe, should have. A small matter, maybe. But, it says a lot about how the business is run.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this printer for doing tax returns and it is nice BUT I cannot print single sided in my tax program with this printer. My old HP laser jet printer was single sided printer and I had no problems. I wanted a wireless printer so got this one and it goes to sleep and I have to be careful to make sure that I push the button to get it off sleep mode or it won't print and I have to turn off computer and printer and then restart to get it to print. So it prints very nice but I have some issues and wish I had not been to be so quick to buy a double sided printing printer. everyone said oh you can just choose to print one sided but that does not work with the tax program I have.

The original ink cartridge that came in the box when I purchased this printer failed from the start. There was always smudges and streaks from the beginning. I put the printer aside for a long time and used other printers cause I just didn’t give a crap about returning it. I offered to give the printer away to several friends or acquaintances but told them of the problem. Not one of them wanted the printer because they knew the ink cartridges were so expensive. Finally as time went by I decided to order a new ink cartridge, the cheapest version. I installed the new ink cartridge and it works beautifully. HP owes me a new ink cartridge no charge, because the one that came with it failed from day one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I learned the hard way on more than one occasion that the clone cartridge/inkjet makers are garbage. They have ruined printers that I have worked fine with OEM ink. If you want a “throw-away” printer, then go buy one of the clones. If instead you want something reliable and going to last for awhile, then do yourself a favor and buy OEM. I bought my HP LaserJet right before the huge work-from-home initiative due to COVID-19, and as of 4/17/20, good luck trying to but a printer for home. I bought this refill laser cartridge just to have as a spare since I know the supply chain for electronics/consumables is going to be adversely affected for some time, and who knows when consumables will be available.

We have four HP printers, which we use for both business and personal purposes. We have tried the aftermarket “refills,“ and no-name cartridges made by other than HP as a general matter, we have not been satisfied with refills or non-NHP printer cartridges. We recognize that HP cartridges are more expensive and that you can go to Amazon or eBay and buy “competitors“ cartridges, much less expensively. However, we always return to buying HP original cartridges because they last a reasonable period of time, do not leak, and provide constant printing . Thank you, HP.

Product quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned HP brand laser printers since the early 1980’s. And I’ve tried all variations of trying to refill or use third party laser cartridges. And you know what? I found that if you want your HP Laser printer to operate flawlessly, as one did for my office that made it to its 29th anniversary……. Use real original HP Laser toner cartridges with high quality paper. Your laser printer will thank you with long trouble free non jamming service.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are a small company and tried to keep costs low by purchasing an off brand of print toner and it did not last a full month, plus left streaks on our pages. We went with the regular 94 and it lasted about 3 months which was super. We most recently tried the 94X and it has so far lasted longer than the regular 94, but we haven't gotten to the end of its life so can't say how long it will actually last for us, but to this point, it seems well worth it.

The product does not give as many sides as advertised. In addition, the order confirmation stated arrival 3-6 business days. Instead, it arrived on July 8 - almost three weeks from ordering. This also means that HP Smart continuously pops up with messages to order EVERY TIME I print. Yes, I am still irritated and have a very low opinion of HP after years of ordering everything from desktop computers to faxes to printers. NOT HAPPY!
