[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this because it had almost 5 stars but since it lasted me less than a month I am giving it 1 star. I have probably shredded maybe 5 pieces of mail and one credit card. The last time I tried to use it, it wouldn’t move or make a sucking sound so I pushed the button to reverse it thinking there was a jam. The teeth of the machine started pushing out of the top and there is now metal jumbled together coming out of the opening. I am so bummed that I didn’t have this happen within the return window. I knew I should have gone with a better brand. I have never had any good experiences with Insignia. Don’t even get me started on my not so smart TV. Do not buy Insignia, it is not worth the aggravation.

I’ve recently purchased this unit and it has exceeded my expectations. I had about 200 sheets of confidential information to put through this shredder. I started with 8 or 10 sheets and found the unit did the shredding but it sounded as if it was straining. Since I had just replaced a unit I’d overworked I cut back to 5 sheets each time and the speed improved considerably and the unit appeared to handle the job easily. I worked non stop at a relaxed pace and the shredder never shut down, overworked. Unit is well priced and seems ideal for home use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this product in 2022, it was working good. On 04/15/2025, I decided to use it, and it was working good. I took a break to cool it since it was getting hot. I tried to use it again, and the turn on knob stopped working, it is very loose. I hardly use this shredder since I purchased it. I advice others to not get this shredder, if you want it to last you for more than 2 years. For the price I paid it should've lasted me much longe.

After 15 years, my old shredder finally died. I picked this one up after reading other reviews on the web and then seeing the sale price. So glad I did. It turns your paper into tiny little pieces, instead of the strips that my old machine created. You can't put pages back together very easily. Capacity is overly optimistic - 7-8 sheets of normal 24lb bond paper max. But it shreds fairly quickly and runs much quieter than my old machine. My wife gave it a good test by shredding 3 bags of old personal files and documents. The overheat protection came on often but it's still running, so that part works as it should.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Heavy duty shredder for home use. It does an excellent job of shredding multiple pages at a time. It is one of the more economical options out there so it definitely provides great value for money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it does what it says...it eats up everything until its full. The only thing is that you got to shuffle it a little when its full to get more space, otherwise it will stop grinning.
