What customers are saying

The product offers a convenient and functional power solution, providing 4 electrical outlets and 3 USB charging ports to power and charge multiple devices simultaneously. The USB ports are powerful enough for quick charging of phones, tablets, and other USB-powered devices. The compact design fits flush against the wall, and the surge protection feature is appreciated for safeguarding electronics. While some users noted the outlets are positioned closely together, making it difficult to use larger plugs, and the device can become loose in the wall outlet when unplugging devices, the product is generally viewed as a valuable and well-designed power hub.

    Basically useless

    Reviewed by - February 4, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, first of all, this is described as having "2.1 amps to allow for fast charging" which I was excited for because I wouldn't need to use my wall adapter to fast charge my phone. This is not the case, the usb ports do not fast charge. I didn't think it was a huge problem, so I plugged in my average-sized Samsung wall adapter to find that nothing else will fit into the ajcent socket. In fact, if you attempt to plug anything but a small cord into this, nothing else will fit. Xbox cords, nightlights, chargers, adapters.. So, in essence, I'm back to only having 2 accessible outlets; granted, with surge protection.

    A novelty, but still useful

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - August 21, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On the one hand, this item might seem a bit superfluous. No matter how much it may look like I am plugging the USB cable right into the wall, this thing is a glorified AC adapter. Still, it's much better to have a charger and a surge protector all in one, and it is quite space conscious, considering that it can charge 7 devices simultaneously. I had previous purchased a similar item that had 1 AC port and 2 USB ports, and this was only a few dollars more, so it wins hands down. If you want to plug your USB device into the wall but don't want it to dominate the outlet, then this device is ideal. Not essential but certainly appealing.

    Compact Hub With Several Outlets

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - November 11, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this product so that we can have access to more outlets than rather having solely two outlets- and we are not disappointed by this hub! It’s very compact, a bit bulky but still compact. Works well and includes 4 outlets and 3 USB ports which come in very handy when wanting to charge multiple items at the same time. With this hub I’m able to charge all of my devices such as my computer, iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad by connecting them all to the hub and still having outlets empty for other uses. Overall, I’m very content with my purchase and this hub has come very in handy. It is small and portable so I’m able to take this with me everywhere.

    Good product, but be aware...

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - October 2, 2014

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this since it has both 4 outlets and 2 usb connection that are separate. That way I need not use 2 of the plugs just to charge the phone. Works well- THe only problem is if you are going to try to use this in someplace like the bathroom (as I wanted) and you have a GFIC outlet there. It will not fit in that given that the spacing is a tiny bit more between the 2 outtel plugs in the wall. You could break off the stabilizer that inserts into the 2nd socket, which we did with the last one we got, but then it (obviously) is not as stable to plug things into. Otherwise works great. Would recommend without reservations as long as it is a "normal" plug/

    Safety Precautions/Restrictions

    Reviewed by ertmara - March 10, 2016

I think this product is worth a rating of 5 stars, but the reason I rated it with with 3 stars is the required safety precautions. The enclosed piece of paper in the box says: SAFETY PRECAUTION DO NOT install this device if there is NOT at LEAST 30 FEET (10 meters) or more of wire between the electrical outlet and electrical service panel. This precaution should be printed on the box instead of just enclosing it inside. I live in a condo and the distance between the service panel and the outlet is less than 20 feet. There's no explanation about this distance restriction. I don't know why this product was approved by UL or CSA. I'm going to return this item.

    Buyer beware

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - November 20, 2016

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never expect Insignia to meet the quality level of Monster or another big name brand, I only needed this to plug in a lamp, clock radio and a Sonos speaker, along with a couple USB cables for my phone and tablet. Upon opening the package, there was a very small piece of paper folded up deep in the packing material that stated (paraphrasing): "Do not connect to outlet with less than 30 feet of cable to the circuit breaker." No mention of why, what would happen if I did, or any of this information on the OUTSIDE of the box. Needless to say, this was returned and Monter Power's similar offering was purchased (with no mention of a wire run distance requirement).

    Pretty much pure awesomeness

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 28, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My house was struck by lightning just last week. The outlet this was plugged into - fried. The surge protector? Fried. The 2 iPhones, 2 Kindles, and MS Surface that were plugged into said surge protector? All A-ok!! To think that little thing took the hit of a lightning strike and not just a power surge - and still saved all of my electronics is nothing short of amazing. He gave up his life to his duty to protect others. Rest in Peace, little buddy.

    Worth buying a second time

    Reviewed by M Ross - May 28, 2016

Bought our first one a couple of years ago to clear up the clutter of chargers on the kitchen counter. Worked like a charm. Needed 3 ports to handle the multitude of phones that a busy family carries. But also needed the plugs for slow cookers and other counter top appliances. The first one has been fault free, so I just purchased a second one for our new trailer. Same reason, too many devices kicking around. But I expect in the trailer that I will really appreciate the surge protection as well. Campground power is notoriously lousy, so protecting your devices is always a good idea; this will cover our phones, tablets, computers, and TV set. Maybe a little more expensive than I was expecting, but the thing works, and that's all you can ask!

    Ran out of extension cords.

    Verified BuyerReviewed by - May 24, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could not find any extra extension cords at my house. I went out shopping and came across this Insignia 4 outlet power hub that has 3 USB units for charging the tablets, cell phones, etc. This comes with a power surge protection. This hub just plugs into the outlet. No more cords to deal with that are on the floor. Since it is higher up than the floor plugging in USB items to charge is easier. You no longer have to get those extra long USB cords to plug your items into a extension cords that sit on the floor. This is the one item that I would buy more of to replace those extension cords. Just think - just one of these you went from a 2 plug outlet to a 4 plug outlet with surge protection and 3 USB Ports.
