- July 15, 2024Bruh. If I wasn’t cutting an everything bagel in half, there would be absolutely no crumbs.

- April 22, 2020I love this amazing Bread knife. Have had the Birchwood chef for a few months and thought I'd treat myself to another pretty birchwood shape. First off, the handle is gorgeous! I know it requires a bit more attention because it is really wood and can swell and shrink if its wet too long,But that said, its such a beautiful knife I'd take extra good care of it any way! the longer bread knife blade is new to me and I am now forever a fan! It is lightweight but does the job as well or better than other knives. My hubby thinks the handle is a bit slight for him... Great he will stay away from my knife!

Beautiful Bread Knife
- April 13, 2020A good bread knife is a game changer! It slices through a fresh loaf of bread with the greatest of ease, not tearing or smashing. Birchwood does this while being exceptionally beautiful too! The birchwood handle is so unique. It is very comfortable with its traditional Asian D shape plus the birchwood material makes it very slip resistant. I love how the handle will become very personal as it absorbs oils from your hands and develops its own personality. The 100 layer Damascus blade is made from a very sharp SG2 steel core that not only makes it very durable but incredibly beautiful. If you want an authentic Japanese knife, end your search with Miyabi. They are made and sold in Japan as the premium knife.

Elegant bread, daily.
- March 31, 2020Give me our daily bread and I'll slice it so easily. Crusty or soft, no drag. Clean smooth slices. I fell in love with the Miyabi line the first time I picked one up. Miyabi Birchwood is a beautifully hand-crafted and made of the one of the best steels for kitchen knives. The smooth birchwood handle fits my hand perfectly; and the inset emblem is an elegant touch. But the part I really love is the blade. The exquisite flower patterned blades belie their hardness, their ability to keep an edge, their gleam. What a joy!

Versatile
- April 30, 2021Versatile knife for all flour-based constructions, from bread to cake. It is so sharp, it will slice through strawberries sitting on whipped cream without submerging them in it. And through layers of cake without squeezing out the filling. I’ve been using it daily and there is no sign of reduced sharpness. Truly an excellent product. The birch wood develops more friction over time, furthering the grip. Its balance and provenance are evident from the first touch. Life should be full of things like these.

- May 12, 2021[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just recently received this knife as a gift from a relative and let me tell you, it’s sharp sharp. I’m not a knife aficionado or anything but if it makes slicing through sourdough easier than blinking then I think it will solve most of your bread problems. This knife is also incredibly comfortable to hold and the weight is perfect. You can place the knife on top of whatever you’re trying to cut and it will glide through it with minimum effort or force on your end. Knife is a 10/10 without a doubt.

Great Look
- July 28, 2020I purchased this knife because I knew it would look great on my table with all the crusty breads I serve. Come to love it for so many other uses. The SG2 steel and the serrations are great for cutting melons, pineapples, onions and tomatoes. Cutting angel food cakes and sponge cake with this knife prevents crushing. I'm really surprised at all the things I am able to do with this knife and find it to be one of the most useful knives I own.

slicing perfection
- July 21, 2020This gorgeous serrated knife makes quick work of bread, tomatoes, melons......basically anything with a harder outside and softer interior. The Birchwood handle is unique with its own patterns. The Damascus style blade gives 101 layers of high carbon steel that is super sharp and stays that way. The Japanese craftsmanship is shown in every detail all the way down to the traditional Katana style watermarking by the blades edge.
