I purchased this device to keep from having to run another network cable from three rooms over to my bedroom. I did not feel like going in the crawl space to run this cable so I purchased this switch to provide internet to two devices. I went from freezing media streaming with 16Mbs to hardwire 78Mbs download and 92Mbs upload. This product was well worth the money. There is no issues streaming HD movies plus 6- 4mp ip cameras attached to the switch. I am getting 1Gbs on 2 ports and 100Mbs on the media streaming port. The change comes from the streaming device limitation. Great product. I would recommend this GS305E switch.

As an entry level switch with Basic VLAN, port mirroring and small size it is all what you need in your tool box to use for diagnosis network issues in office environments

Bought the Netgear GS305E for a few good reasons. 1, I'm not very IT savvy and very happy with Netgear products, support and straight forward install. 2, I wanted something to alleviate wifi burden on my router. 3, and speed up connection to a personal laptop along with 2 work laptops. This switch was the perfect solution at a great cost. Being managed, it's more than I need but I have the capabilities if necessary. Simple set up - which also could be due to existing Netgear set ups, but those were straight forward too.

So, this may be a cheap 5 port managed switch but I was totally impressed with this thing. I was able to set it up in about 5 minutes total including the registration. The firmware was easy to update, the web interface was great, and you can set up multiple VLANS and even choose which port is on what VLAN. I was expecting this to only do 1 VLAN but now that I know what this thing is valuable of we will be using a lot more of these. Thanks Netgear for another great reliable product!

This works perfectly. It is NOT plug and play. There is a little bit of set up involved. Super easy though. Once it's set up, you will experience faster speeds and better coverage throughout the whole house. Plus, you can set up a guest wifi and password so they do not have access to your main account.

My network has drastically grown this last year and these switches were the right move before I knew it. Each of my 4 supports a hardwired apple tv, computer, and high demand netgear wifi 6 access point. I’ve never had a network drop with over 60 home automation devices!!

I have IPTV devices at home and needed something to handle IGMP snooping along with VLAN capabilities. This little guy fits the bill perfectly. Easy to configure and manage, and rock solid stability. Combined with a fanless design, I'm hoping this lasts me a long time.

Perhaps excessive for the house but it does the trick very nicely. Although, initially, a little intimidating to set up it was in fact very straight forward. Good signal to all three destinations. A good price and value. My second Netgear device. Good stuff!

Excellent little device, the management console is helpful to debug connections from vintage computing devices which can't always negotiate connections with modern switches. With this switch I can set the port down to 100Mbps or 10Mbps and it really helps.
