Panasonic 2-Handset DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone With Answering Machine (KXTGC222B) - Only at Best Buy

I had the previous version of this phone which was awesome. I bought this one 7 months ago and keep thinking I need to return it (although it's probably too late now). It cuts in and out during phone calls. I've actually had to hang up on people and call them back on my cell to understand what they're saying. You also can't save some messages - you need to save all or delete all, you can't pick and choose which messages to save. I like to save various messages so this is a pain for me. Volume is good, the different functions are good, aesthetically it's fine. I'm just really disappointed in the fact that it cuts in and out. For that fact alone, it's a complete waste of money.

The handsets both say "New Voicemail Message" and there is not one. This has been since first plugging them in. I have been through each menu, deleting all messages....but still, it tells me that there is a message. in hindsight, I would not have bought this item.

I bought this phone about 8 months ago. When you use the speaker it cuts in and out and you can hardly understand what people are saying. When just using the phone normally, the audio is terrible. Big waste of money. Since I have had it too long, I can't take it back. I am now shopping for another phone.

Specs say "wall mountable = yes". Not so much in the traditional sense where it hangs on those ugly silver phone jack wall plates, as they have since the dawn of mankind. Instead, it gives you directions on driving two finishing nails into the wall 1" 1/16 apart so you can hang the charger. Yup, just the charger, not the answering machine. Now wouldn't that look precious on my travertine tile backsplash. Fail Panasonic. Too bad, I bet it's a decent phone. My last one lasted over 10 years with only one battery replacement. AND guess where that one hung by design? Engineers, please wake up.

We had A Panasonic 3 phone set for years and it worked well. When it came time to change we opted for DECT 6.0 and I'm sorry we did. After a number of tries to get the answering machine to work we found that our fax/copier interfered with the phone system. We unplugged the fax/copier and then the answering machine worked. Now every time we have to make a copy or send a fax we have to plug the machine in and wait for it to do it's thing before we could use it....then remember to unplug it in order for the phone to work. Also the speaker on the answering machine is terrible. Why would such a reputable company such as Panasonic make such poor quality? We can't return it as I'm 80 years old and too afraid to leave my home to take it back in fear of the virus. We ordered it on line and Best buy is nice enough to accept it back at any of their stores. I guess we are stuck with it. At least the phones work properly, probably better than our other ones. I would not recommend this set.
