Low Price Guarantee

How does it work?

If you find a lower price with a retailer or authorized dealer online, in-store, or in print before you buy or within 30 days of your purchase we’ll gladly match that price. Should our own price be reduced, present us with your original receipt within 30 days of purchase and we will match the price and refund you the difference.

Which products qualify?

The product you’re comparing must meet the following criteria to qualify:

  • Must have the exact same brand name and model #
  • Must be priced in Canadian Dollars and include all environmental fees, shipping costs, and other charges
  • Must be sold and shipped by a retailer AND authorized dealer located within Canada
    • The following types of sellers do not qualify for a price match:
      • Marketplace sellers on websites such as Bestbuy.ca, Amazon.ca or resellers such as eBay.ca
      • Any sellers whose products are refurbished or liquidated
  • The product must be in stock, available for sale, and cannot be a limited time offer, pre-order, or available only in limited quantity
  • The product’s price must not be lower due to an advertising error, misprint, or special sale price

Special sale prices include: VIP SALE, Black Friday, Friends and Family, Cyber Monday, Boxing Day/Week, pre-orders, special educational prices, restricted offers, mail order offers, rebates, coupons, premiums, free or bonus offers, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) prices, open box products, close-outs, liquidations, clearances, demos, refurbished items, open box items, and financing offers.

3. Request a price match

If you’ve already bought the product

In Store: If you've already made your purchase in-store, you'll also need to make your request at a Best Buy store. Remember to bring the flyer, advertisement, or web address of the lower-priced product with you as well as your original receipt.

Online: If you've bought something online, you can request a price match online or by phone. To make your request online, first you will need to Find your order, then go to the order details page, and select “Contact Us.” For email requests, make sure to include the name of the item you want to price match, the lower price of the item, and the link to the product page or flyer with the lower price. You can also request a price match for an item you've purchased online by calling us at 1-866-237-8289.

If you haven’t bought the product yet

Since you haven’t made your purchase yet you can visit any store to request a price match. If you qualify, they’ll be able to discount your purchase on the spot. Remember to bring the flyer, advertisement, or web address of the lower-priced product with you.

How does the Low Price Guarantee apply to:

Reserve and Pick Up

If you purchase an item at BestBuy.ca, and if the item is offered at a lower price in the store when you pick it up, you will automatically pay the lower price.

Pre-orders, Backorders and Items Scheduled for Delivery

The Low Price Guarantee does not apply to pre-orders from other retailers. But if the price of an item at Best Buy drops before or at the time of shipment, you will automatically pay the lower price. You're not charged until the time of the product's shipment.

Marketplace Items

The Low Price Guarantee only applies to items sold and shipped by Best Buy Canada and does not apply to items sold and shipped by Marketplace sellers. The Low Price Guarantee also does not apply to items sold by marketplace vendors on competitor sites.

Products bought in New Brunswick

As of June 1, 2017, the government of New Brunswick has mandated that the Environmental Handling Fee (EHF) must be included in the price for qualifying products, as shown on the receipt. That means when you look at your paper receipt in-store or the online invoice on BestBuy.ca, the price you see will include the EHF, instead of having the EHF listed separately.

This may make the price look higher than it actually is. The Low Price Guarantee only price matches against a product's actual price, not including the EHF. To see a product's actual price check the store shelf price tag, online product description page, cart, or checkout summary page -- these will all show the price without the EHF.

This policy only applies to EHF-eligible products sold in New Brunswick Best Buy stores or online purchases that are shipped to New Brunswick.
