[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Ring contact sensors after I moved into a new house and left my old cheap contact sensors behind. I use these with SmartThings to signal when two entry doors in my house open and close. My first impression upon opening the packaging is that these are extremely well made with nice fit and finish. The physical installation was easy with flexibility in mounting types and positions. Pairing with SmartThings required setting them up as a generic Z-Wave device, not a problem and already expected. After a month of use the batteries still shows plenty of life and the trigger is instant when the door opens.

We have a two story home with over 3000 sq ft. I am a retired law enforcement officer and understand the (now days) importance of home security. These Alarm Contact Sensors augment the entire security system, and enhances early warning in the event that someone should try and break in our home. Each sensor is set by location, and consequently identifies each area of concern when activated. As of this date, I can say that these little sensors are truly powerful and reliable.

Anyone could've gotten in and out of my house without me and my spouse knowing. I had motion sensors but not enough sensors to cover my doors . These are a game changer .
