Audio output from my TV is channeled to my JBL speaker its super simple and intuitive I was having some issues with Bluetooth connecting to my phone and not the TV then I tried to use HDMI but my wife uses the switch and I dint want to manually swap cables. With the optical cable my JBL uses a different mode instead of Bluetooth or HDMI and it works in sync with my TV turning on and off and great sound also the switch which is plugged into my TV, its output is channeled to the speaker with this cable, so im super happy. MAKE SURE BOTH HAVE A slot for cable. If you don't have the problem I do then just use HDMI.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When the very large Samsung HDTV unexpectedly stopped working one evening it took an hour or so to determine the Optical Audio Cable somehow got damaged - sliced actually, clean through. Fortunately, Best Buy had a replacement cable available in stock for immediate purchase. Yay - Best Buy and Rocket Fish saved what could have been an ugly scene from occurring. Still, no clue as to how the original cable got cut but, at least Mom was able to watch her favorite cooking show without getting Knives Out. NOTE: when installing this cable, make certain the protective cap on each end is first removed. The cable works much better this way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my new 4K TV was installed the ARC (Audio Return Channel) would not work. This was probably because my new TV is a different brand from my home theater equipment. This optical digital audio cable provides the best alternate audio connection between the TV and my 5.1 home theater and the surround sound works like a champ. I have read that a longer length of this type of cable does not affect sound quality and I need this 12 foot length to be sure the cable is not too tight when I move equipment. (If you have a DVR be sure to select Dolby Digital in the DVR's settings. Otherwise you might not get 5.1 sound.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product, worked well in the conversion process from the optical port on my 55' flatscreen to an adapter/converter to connect an older RCA sound system. Cable length is plenty long and shilding is thick unlike the cable provided by Viso, the sound bar manufacturer that I was previously using. End to End connection on this optical cable is spot on. No wiggle or play once docked into the port. I like the larger thicker ends as it makes docking and undocking a breeze, I struggled to get the tiny ends of the old optical cable out the TV.. at the time of this writing I'm a month in and haven't had any issue.

My first optical cable’s one end came out of the cord while puling out from the audio socket, but this one looks much stronger an durable to run for longer run. Plus it is pretty good in length which gives us options to move our sound bar away from the Screen. The only thing is, its too costly for an optical cable. :)
