- Def Not Room Shaking Bass- December 9, 2021
If you have an apartment or town home this will do, otherwise you’re going to need the 300W. This is highly underwhelming given the associated price tag. Even at highest level the output is minimal. Compared to competitors offerings which are usually packaged WITH the soundbar this is a huge disappointment. Pros: + Looks Nice + Easy to Use Cons: - Everything else - Minimal Output even at Highest level. - RF link in 2021 The whole A7000 non packaged money grab has left me pretty bummed on Sony. My expectations were sky high and even after emptying my wallet it fell extremely short. The Apple speaker above this in my picture gives more bass than this does. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Perfect companion to the HT-A7000- April 9, 2022
Purchased this subwoofer to pair with my HT-A7000. Opted for this as the cost was far lower (especially open box) compared to it's larger counterpart, and as I live in an apartment I didn't need (or want) too powerful of a subwoofer. Setup was super fast, don't forget to recalibrate your soundbar once it's connected! This sub has added tons of depth and richness to content, and has proven itself with the Atmos content I've watched. Music has also had a positive benefit from the addition of this sub as expected, of course how much you hear/feel bass will depend on the content and your settings. Overall I'm quite happy with choosing this sub and I think it's a good addition for those of you who don't necessarily want or need wall-shaking bass to enjoy your content, though even this sub can pack quite the punch.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- An excellent subwoofer- November 15, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to pair up with my Sony HT-A5000 sound bar to make it a 5.2.2 sound system. The soundbar already has a small internal subwoofer that is pretty good, but with the SA-SW3 it turns a 7.5/10 bass quality into a 20/10 bass quality. It really kicks up the deep impacting bass from movies and games. The set up is easy just plug it in and push the power button, once the light turns green it's paired. I like it and am happy to have it as part of my home theater.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Much needed subwoofer for the Sony HTA5000!- December 30, 2021
I bought this with my Sony HTA5000 sound bar! The Sony HTA5000 does have a subwoofer built in, but I strongly recommend buying the standalone subwoofer. It adds the deeper sound the bar itself cannot quite hit. There are two options available for the HTA5000; this one and a 300 watt. I bought this one because my space is smaller and the bigger version would probably be too much. This subwoofer maintains Sony's high quality standards!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- More than adequate in a room 24 x 18 in size- May 6, 2022
I paired this with a new HT-A7000 Sony Atmos soundbar and a new 65" A80J TV. I was slightly concerned that the size of this unit would not adequately produce satisfying bass in my size room. I even went into the local store before delivery and posed this question whether I should have gotten the larger unit. The sales people were assuring that this unit would be adequate for my sized room and they were 100% correct. I do not feel the bass is lacking at all and have tested this with movies such as "Dune" or "Edge of Tomorrow" and it rumbled the room in good fashion. This sub will not rattle the furniture to the point it will start walking around the room, but that is not what I am after anyway. Music playback bass is also adequate, although this soundbar/subwoofer combo is not, to my ear, designed for music playback anyway. Well worth the cost.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
