- Crisp Vocals and Loud- December 22, 2018
I returned the definitive technologies procenter 10000 and bought this one. I intially had the micca MB42-C and i thought that speaker was big but not loud enough. I had to raise the volume at night and it used to disturb my family when watching tv. I wanted to get a nice clear center channel speaker, So i got the definitive technologies procenter 1000 and the quality was good but i did not feel it was worth it. Then i got this one at $73 and its made a good difference in my movie vocal quality and also playing songs at all stereo mode. I think its a good looking , better sounding that the definitive speaker. Get it!!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- center speakers make it easy to hear dialog- December 11, 2020
Phenomenal value--got it at the outlet. After a couple weeks went by, I went and got me another one at the outlet. How did I get by for so many years without center speakers I cannot say. The quality is very good, although to be sure, these cannot be difficult to manufacture. I do like that the speaker wire connections actually seem big enough to hang on tight. Very crisp, very nice for catching the dialog for a change. Working great in a frugal 5.1 setup. I'm going to add the second one bought to upgrade another setup to 5.0 and then maybe I will have to slide my sub around if I'm too cheap to buy another, heh.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- No super tweeter on the center channel.- December 2, 2020
Bought this center speaker to match the CS5 bookshelf speakers. This does not match the sound of the bookshelf speakers at all and is quite jarring while watching movies in surround. The dialogue sounds like its coming from totally difference sources and does not blend at all when the sound pans from left to right in films. The decision to leave the super tweeter off the center channel speaker is an odd one, and is obviously the reason this speaker does not match the set. I ended up buying another set of bookshelf speakers and am currently using one as the center. That being said, if you do not have matching speakers and just need a good sounding center speaker, the Sony is fine. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
